Pet Adoption League (PAL) IS A NO-KILL shelter. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, and micro-chip all our dogs as well as provide medical attention when needed. We provide them lots of love to restore their faith in human beings. We are located at:

From NEW STANTON: Take Rt. 70 West to the YUKON, after the exit ramp, make a right at the stop sign and go .2 miles to another stop sign at a T. and directly in front of you will be a Chiropractor's office. Turn left and go about 1.4 miles. Look for our sign on your left.

From IRWIN, MONROEVILLE, PITTSBURGH areas: Take the PA. Turnpike to New Stanton, then follow the above directions.

From BELLE VERNON: Take Rt. 70 East to the Yukon exit. The exit ramp will bring you up to a stop sign. Make a Right turn to the next stop sign. Make another right into Yukon and you will come up to the T where the Chiropractor's office is. Make a Left at the T and go out of town about 1.4 miles. Our sign will be on the Left.

Adopting a friend

What is our adoption process?

Step one: Meet the dog!
You obviously will need to bond with the dog and them with you and all of your family members. WE DO NOT DO SURPRISE ADOPTIONS. All family members must be present at the time of adoption. It is best that other dogs in your household also meet the new pet prior to the adoption.

Step Two: Fill out our application.
Please fill it out as complete as possible. If you have any concerns about the questions, please ask.

Step Three: The interview.
You will be interviewed by the PAL Director. During the interview, your application will be reviewed and you will be asked general questions about yourself, your family, your lifestyle, and living situations. The purpose of the interview is to determine if you are a good fit for the dog you are trying to adopt.

Step Four: Vet check.
If you have had a pet as an adult in the recent past, please bring your up to date vet records with you in order to expedite your adoption. Otherwise, PAL will contact your vet to verify that the animal is up to date on vaccinations. Please bring your Vet’s name and phone number with you.

Due to unforeseen circumstance, please contact the shelter before visiting.

We take some of our adoptable dogs to Petsmart in Greensburg most Saturdays from 12 to 5. Please bring your current vet records if you are interested in adopting and have a pet now.
