LOW COST SPAY/NEUTER: We offer transport trips for your pet to Spay Oklahoma in Bixby. Drop your pet off at the shelter in the morning and pick it up that afternoon. You must be a resident of Okmulgee County and have an income of $40,000 or less. Cost is dogs $45 and cats $35. You must go to the shelter and fill out paperwork and pay in advance. We schedule trips every couple weeks. Because of the Holidays and winter coming we will not schedule our next trip until Spring 2013.

Who We Are
Welcome to the Okmulgee Humane Society. We are comprised of a small group of volunteers who work at the Okmulgee Animal Shelter to adopt shelter animals and to work with the community in finding lost pets, placing animals outside of the shelter, and to assist in any way we can with the care and well being of animals. We are in dire need of volunteers, so if you have one day each week to spare we could really use your help to answer the phone and show the pets currently in the shelter.
Volunteers are available at the shelter Mon. - Fri.. 9am to 1pm.

Adopting a friend
Our dog adoption fees are $100 on most dogs. Some of our Pit Bulls or bully breeds will be $125. You must have a fenced yard and if you rent we must have written permission from your landlord stating that pets are allowed. We do not adopt to the first person interested. We ask questions and find the 'right' home for the dog or cat. We also require you sign an adoption contract. Dog adoption fees include spay or neuter, vaccinations, worming, and flea and heartworm preventative.
All cat adoption fees are $50 which includes spay or neuter, vaccinations and worming.
