BIG NEWS!
Thanks to donations from FRIENDS OF OHIO COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER, we are able to give all adoptable puppies DHPP vaccine.

We are in need of donations including canned dog or cat food, cat litter, leashes, toys, rawhide chews, and cleaning supplies. Check out our WISH LIST to see how you can make the lives of our animals better. We also need volunteers to walk dogs, give baths, and in general just show some affection to these great animals. Any help is appeciated.

FUND RAISERS
We participate in the Recycle 4 Charity ink jet, laser, and toner cartridge and cell phone recycling program. We can earn money for each cartridge and phone donated to the shelter. We also collect aluminum drink cans to recycle. Contact the shelter by e-mail about donating these to help our animals.

Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog or cat to sleep in comfort, please click here.

WHO WE ARE

Ohio County Animal Shelter is an open admission municipal animal shelter with limited resoures. Rescue groups are welcome. Thanks to Petfinder and wonderful volunteers, adopters, and rescues, we were able to save 1,203 dogs, cats, and other little furrys in the past two years. Please help us save even more pets by adopting one of our terrific animals. If you are looking for a new forever friend, there is no better time than now.

We belong to the Hill's Shelter Nutrition Program. Our shelter animals benefit from being fed a premium diet.

ADOPTING A FRIEND

DOG ADOPTION FEE

$75.00

FOR OHIO COUNTY RESIDENTS:
Includes health check and spay/neuter at any county veterinarian.

FOR NON-RESIDENT ADOPTERS:
Adoption fee is reimbursed to your veterinarian upon proof of spay/neuter surgery.

ADD $12.00 IF RABIES VACCINE GIVEN TO ADULT DOGS PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

CAT ADOPTION FEE

$65.00

FOR OHIO COUNTY RESIDENTS:
Includes healthcheck and spay/neuter at any county veterinarian.

FOR NON-RESIDENT ADOPTERS:
Adoption fee is reimbursed to your veterinarian upon proof of spay/neuter surgery.

ADD $12.00 IF RABIES VACCINE GIVEN TO ADULT CATS PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

A preadoption application is required for all placements. An online preadoption application is available. Out-of-county adoptions require a veterinarian reference.
