MISSION STATEMENT

To protect and serve the citizens and domestic animals in the City of Olive Branch by keeping stray and aggressive animals off the streets, providing shelter and care for homeless animals, enforce City Ordinances on animal cruelty, finding homes for shelter animals, educating the public in the proper care of animals and promoting spay/neuter to control overpopulation of dogs and cats.

Our Featured DOGS and CATS

You can adopt a dog or cat for $15
plus a pre-paid rabies vaccine (3 months and older).
All dogs are heartworm tested before going home.
All adopters pay a low cost spay/neuter fee before pet goes home. Dog's spay/neuters start at $45-$50 for dogs up to 25 pounds. Dogs up to 50 pounds start at $50 - $70. A cat spay or neuter is usually in the $40 range.

Please come and visit the many homeless dogs soon!

REMEMBER

PET IDENTIFICATION is important to ensure the safe return of your pet if he/she gets lost. Even if your pet normally stays inside, accidents can happen! Many people put collars on their pets, but fail to put a rabies tag or ID on it. Without any ID, shelters are unable to locate owners and many pets are euthanized annually just because an owner does not come looking for his/her pet and the ACO has no way of finding the owner. Additionally, the City of Olive Branch Animal Control Ordinances require that every pet wear his/her rabies tag at all times(MS. State Law). If you cannot keep a collar on your pet, try getting a microchip. Shelters have scanners to check for this implanted computer chip and, thus, locate an owner. Also, keep contact information up to date with your veterinarian and with the microchip manufacturer. Pet owners have your pet checked for heart worms and get heart worm medication for your pets. The Southern States are prone to heart worms because of the misquito population in warmer climates. Keep your pets up to date on their vaccinations - they'll live longer and be healthier.
