Coqui and Pepe

Coqui and Pepe were orphaned after their guardian passed away very suddenly.

Coqui is a 1 year old female who is adorable in every sense of the word...the cutest face, bunny-soft fur, and a habit of "marching" in place and chirping like a songbird when she's very happy to see you (which is always)...she just couldn't be gooey-sweeter if she were made of marshmallow. She begins making muffins the moment she hears you coming and bumps heads with Pepe as if to say, "Kitties get ready, there's a human coming!!!" She truly adores Pepe. Pepe, Coqui's suitor, is an approximately 6 year old boy with the gentlest, sweetest purr-sonality ever. He has an old aural hematoma on his left ear, but he doesn't let it get him down - he knows it's just part of his rakish charm. This guy is a true sweetheart, cat and people friendly in equal measure. He is the greatest string hunter in the east, and takes especial joy in mushing faces with you so hard that he almost knocks you over. Coqui and he are deeply fond of one another, and they've been through a great deal...ideally, we'd very much like them to stay together.

Both kitties are Neutered, vetted, UTD on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and FIV/FeLV neg.

Who We Are

Neighborhood Cats was formed in 1999 to create an awareness of the severe feral cat overpopulation crisis and
to promote and establish trap-neuter-return (TNR) as the most humane and effective method of solving this
problem in New York City. We focus on educating those interested in helping feral cats and advancing
TNR as the preferred solution to controlling feral cat reproduction. Through our comprehensive website and
online TNR courses, we have broadened our scope to reach people throughout the country and beyond.
Our ultimate goal is to substantially reduce the number of cats born and living on every city's streets.
