Our Featured Pet...
Willoughby...
He was found on a cold winter's night in a desolate section of Brooklyn - eating garbage. Emaciated, sick and hungry; he was easy to trap. The rescuers had no idea he was friendly! He was very afraid at first but as soon as he realized he was safe, his true personality began to shine. Willoughby is an intelligent, adventurous, panther-like big boy. Known as “The Assistant” because he likes to be involved - helping you with whatever you are doing, Even though he was found all alone, he prefers to be with people! He gets along with other cats as long as they are not alpha males (he's the alpha!).
Willoughby is approximately 2-3 years old, has been neutered, vaccinated, and is FIV/FELV negative. He is looking for my first real family – will that be with you?

Who We Are
Neighborhood Cats was formed in 1999 to create an awareness of the severe feral cat overpopulation crisis and to promote and establish trap-neuter-return ("TNR") as the most humane and effective method of solving this problem in New York City. We focus on educating those interesed in helping feral cats and advancing TNR as the preferred solution to controlling feral cat reproduction. Through our comprehensive website and online TNR courses, we have broadened our scope to reach people throughout the country and beyond. Our ultimate goal is to substantially reduce the number of cats born and living on every city's streets.
