Northern Chesapeake Sheltie Rescue,Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to rescue and re-home Shelties in the MD/DE areas. All our Shelties are given vet care, updated on all shots and spayed/neutered before placement. We require an application and a home check. We ask a minimum adoption donation of $300.00 to help offset the enormous costs of vet care and maintenance of our foster dogs. Puppies under one year are $400.00.
Contributions and donations are always welcomed, we accept Paypal, and all donations are tax deductible. For more information about us, visit our website at www.ncsr-md.org .
Adopting a friend
We are not a shelter, we are a network of volunteers who foster Shelties in our homes.
Once you have found a Sheltie you are interested in, we will ask you to read our adoption guidelines, then complete an adoption application . We ask questions that will help us match the right dog to the right home. We will then schedule a visit to your home. You are also welcome to schedule a visit with the sheltie at her foster home.
Sorry, but we do not ship our rescues long distances.
If you would like to help us help more Shelties, we are always in need of additional volunteers! Foster homes are especially needed, but if you can?t foster there are many other volunteer opportunities that require less time commitments.
Can you spare a few hours one day a month to help staff an adoption day event? Or a couple of hours on a weekend to make a home visit to a prospective adopter? A couple of hours in the evening to make reference calls? Do you make crafts that we could sell at fund raising events?
If you can help us, please fill out and submit our Volunteer Form.
