We have applied for our 501c3 status with the IRS and are patiently awaiting the approval, hopefully within the next 90 days. (from 2/10/2012).
OH, HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! MARCH 13, 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have been approved for our 501c3 status. It is effective as of October 25, 2011, our day of Incorporation.
We would like to thank everyone for all their help, encouragement and donations. It is because of you that we can take care of the "kids" in our care" and get them ready for that special family.
Donations are needed, of course, to help with extraordinary medical expenses, such as stitches, dental work, heartworm treatment. We currently, have three of our "kids" that are heartworm positive and are wiating for funds to pay for their treatment. They are currently on a "slow-kill method" of treatment and will continue until funds are available for the immiticide treatment. Your donations are now tax deductible. We accept cash, debit or credit cards. Sorry, we cannot accept checks at this time.
Thank you, all, again, for your help, encouragement and donations.
Cindy & Art, HWH Guardians
WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL FOR DONATIONS
All of our canine "kids" are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They are up-to-date on vaccines and have had a rabies shot and tag, if of age. Each dog over eight months old has been tested for heartworms and treated, if positive, or put on a heartworm prevention, as well as flea/tick prevention. Dogs younger than 8 months are given heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention as soon as possible. A health record is included in the adoption package. Adoption fees are $150-$250 puppies - $175-$350 adult dogs.
Our fees allow us to get another dog ready for a new family. Donations are alway needed and welcomed to help with extra medical expenses that the "kids" may have. Adoption fees and donations can now be cash or debit/credit cards. Sorry we don't take checks.
WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL FOR DONATIONS. The Paypal Button is located under "NEWS" Please help us help the dogs.
"Half-Way Home Canine Rescue, Inc." began as a transport service for animals being sent to Rescues, out-of-state, from Pender County Animal Shelter. We slowly transformed into a "temporary haven from the shelter until a forever family is found". We pull dogs from the shelter, get them spayed/neutered, properly vetted and up-to-date on needed vaccines, assist in medical treatments and rehabilitation. With the help of foster families, they are socialized them with other dogs, cats and children before they go to a forever home. We still provide quarantine lodging, transport to medical appointments, transport to small airports in the area for relocation of our dogs flying out to other Rescues.
We are available seven days a week, mornings, afternoons and early evenings, by appointment. We do our very best to accommodate our new prospective parents. Call us at 910-285-6212 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
We interview each adoptive family by phone and email. We would like all members of the family, and any four-legged members come to meet the new addition to the family. We allow time for everyone to make sure they get along with each other before they go home. As our dogs are currently in foster homes, close by, we require an appointment for you to see them. We have a variety of dogs to choose from, and a great big back yard for you to play with your new family member before making your decision.
We are located in Watha, between Burgaw and Wallace. in Southeastern North Carolina, not too far from Wilmington, just off of I-40, and easy to get to. We'll give you exact directions when you make your appointment to visit. Give us a call at 910-285-6212
