Adopting A Friend

Anatolians are not for everyone and are very different from the average domesticated dog.  Please do your research before making the commitment to bringing one of these dogs into your life.

Read more about Anatolians on our main website www.nasrn.com

Request our adoption form via Email: You may leave your message blank, the form will be emailed to you automatically. Please follow the directions in the email to complete and return the form.

If you have any questions, please email a representative in your area.

Our adoption fees vary between $150-$350 depending upon the age of the dog, whether or not it is a pure bred or a cross, and if it is a trained livestock guardian dog. Please inquire for adoption fees on a specific dog.

Adoption fees enables us to:

  • Spay or neuter the dog
  • Fully vaccinate, including Rabies
  • Heartworm Test
  • Fecal--test and treat for internal parasites
  • Treat for external parasites
  • Give a general veterinary exam

Please Note: Our rescues will not be available to working LGD homes unless the dog has been tested and evaluated with livestock and has proven to be trustworthy with them. We cannot adopt a dog out for a specific job unless we know the dog is able to do that particular job.

  • We require a signed adoption contract, and payment of adoption fee prior to placement.
  • Fee is non-refundable.
  • We require that the dog be returned to our care, in the event the placement does not work out. We will take any of our rescues back, regardless of the reason.
If you adopt a dog out of your area, you will be responsible for transport back to the dog's original foster home.
  • We do not adopt out intact dogs-ALL of our rescues are spayed or neutered prior to placement.
  • We do not adopt to homes if the dog will be exclusively an outside dog. This does not apply if the dog is a working livestock guardian dog.
  • All of our adoptions are under a 30 day probationary period. Restrictions apply, please refer to the adoption contract.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any applicant.
  • Adoptions will not be possible if you are more than 1,000 miles from the location of the dog. Transport assistance may be available, please inquire.

Who We Are

The National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network (NASRN) is a nationwide, 501(c)(3) recognized non-profit,organization.

NASRN is dedicated to placing unwanted, displaced and abandoned Anatolian Shepherd Dogs(ASDs) into safe, caring homes. Anatolian crosses will be included in our efforts as we believe crosses not only have many of the unique needs/characteristics of purebred Anatolians, but are often born due to the lack of responsibility on the part of the owners of purebred Anatolians.

Our organization is comprised of ASD owners, both working and pet homes. We have joined together in an effort to help homeless and displaced Anatolians find a new lease on life.

NASRN works with owners who are no longer able to, or no longer wish to, keep their Anatolians, in placing them in more suitable homes. We cannot, however, place a dog for an owner who is asking a fee or selling their ASD.

We also work directly with shelters in pulling dogs from facilities and placing them either in foster care or directly into new homes. Further, we are committed to helping Anatolians and their crosses, regardless of age or health condition.

We will offer and provide assistance to ASD and other Livestock Guardian (LGD) breed owners who are having problems with their dogs, in an effort to keep the dog in its present home.

We offer ongoing support to our adopting families to help them with any problems they may experience with their ASD.

When able to, we will work with other Livestock Guardian rescue groups to help place other Livestock Guardian breeds into new homes.
