Meet George!

My name is George. I am a former rescue that was adopted six years ago. My Mom rescued me but I think I rescued her, too. I am by her side whenever she needs me with my loving heart and soul. I was diagnosed with lymphoma six weeks ago. I am currently in remission, thanks to my Mom, but she lost her job this past week and is worried that she won't be able to afford my treatments which are very expensive. I have several more to go for complete recovery.

Any donations you could send to OKI Labrador Rescue would be greatly appreciated. OKI LAB RESCUE Jan Thaman 27175 Leona Drive, St, LEON, IN 47012-8441

Rescue News:
Foster Volunteers Needed! The MVLRC Rescue is in URGENT need of Foster Care Givers in the Greater Cincinnati area. This area includes Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. All Rescue Labs are current on vaccinations, heartworm clear, and altered. They just need a temporary home until they are adopted. We, as a rescue, are limited in saving worthy purebred Labradors who face euthanasia because of lack of interim homes. Please help us by giving them sanctuary.

Who we are
The Miami Valley Labrador Retriever Rescue is a small group of volunteers from the Miami Valley Labrador Retriever Club (an AKC licensed specialty club in southwestern Ohio)?and other caring community members. We are dedicated to the Labrador Retriever breed and support the rescue and referral of Labs in need of new homes in our geographic area.

What we do
Through the use of e-mail and a telephone mailbox, we coordinate information about Labradors who can no longer be kept by their owners, have been surrendered to an animal shelter, or have been rescued as strays, and we try to match them with an adoptive family. Our area of operation includes counties in southwestern Ohio, southeastern Indiana, and northern Kentucky. Our members contribute their time, effort, financial support, and "heartstrings" to try to help Labradors in need.

How we work
If you have found a stray that you believe is a Labrador, call the hotline at 513-588-0124 and leave your name, phone number, and information about the dog. A volunteer will contact you as soon as the message is taken off the system.

If you are interested in adopting a Labrador, or if you own a Lab you can no longer care for, call 513-588-0124 to leave a message with our voicemail center. One of our volunteers will contact you. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire and in the event that we are able to help you, we request a contribution to rescue in return for our services. If you adopt a Labrador that is in our foster care, a donation is requested to help cover our vet expenses for the dogs in rescue.
