Hi, my name is Sam and I'm looking for that very special person to give me my forever home. I've had to persevere through some bad times but I've kept a great attitude and have lots of love to share. Who We Are
Morningstar Animal Rescue & Referral, Inc. (MARR) is a 501 (c) (3) non profit dog rescue group based in Ridgeland, SC that is foremost dedicated to finding wonderful forever homes for the unwanted, abused & needy animals in our area and even beyond if we can. We also support and assist our local kill and no kill shelters as well as local rescuers. MARR strongly promotes spaying and neutering as an effective means to help control the animal overpopulation. We gladly accept donations of money, food, pet supplies such as beds & toys, prepaid phone cards (for when we have to check references) and
gift certificates to on-line pet stores.
We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.

Adopting a friend
All of our rescues will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, health checked, taken through heartworm treatment (if positive) and in most cases microchipped prior to being placed in a new home. All potential homes are carefully screened and we require completion of an Adoption Application (once complete, email to morningstar@hargray.com), reference check and a home evaluation. Some of the listings you will find are Courtesy Listings (noted as such) of other animals in need in our area. As these animals are not in our rescue program we will provide you with the contact information of the person or group in charge of helping that particular animal.
Come Visit Us!
Since we are not a shelter facility but a group of foster homes, visiting hours are by appointment only. We are based in Ridgeland, SC which is 20 miles north of Savannah, GA on Interstate 95. Some of our animals are being fostered in nearby area's so appointments are necessary. Please contact us by email first if you have internet access as this is the fastest way for us to respond.
