News

All dogs receive a vaccination when they are impounded or surrendered.
This includes the parvovirus, distemper, dog flu, and lepto (lepto vaccination is given to dogs ONLY if they are over 4 months of age).
Some of the animals are given flea and tick prevention medication when the situation warrants it.
Kittens that are infected with conjunctivitis of the eye, receive neosporin and medication on their eyes to clear them up.

Most animals on warmer days are given baths regularly to prevent the infestation of pests (such as fleas and ticks).

All large breed dogs are given periodic run of the north and south side yards that are available not only for exercise, but also to promote socialization with human beings in a playful and safe enviornment.

Animals are never housed together in kennels (unless related, such as two puppies from the same litter) for quarantine purposes and to prevent the spread of disease.

Remember, please spay and neuter your pets!
Thanks!

Who We Are

We are a shelter that is ran by the City of Nevada.
Animals are kept for a predetermined amount of time until they are either reclaimed, adopted out, or euthanized.
Donations of all types are welcome and appreciated.

Adopting a friend

Dogs: $10 Adoption Fee, $20 Spay/Neuter Deposit.
Once you have your pet spayed or neutered, you may return the receipt that we give you, and a form from the vet stating the pet has been spayed/neutered, and get that deposit back.

Cats:
$5 Adoption Fee, $20 Spay/Neuter Deposit.
Once you have your pet spayed or neutered, you may return the receipt that we give you, and a form from the vet stating that the pet has been spayed/neutered, and get that deposit back.

Animals that have paperwork stating that they are already spayed or neutered will not have the spay/neuter deposit attached to their adoption fees.

We now have applications!
To put an animal on hold for a later adoption date, please stop by the shelter or email us, and we will give you one of our adoption applications.
Or, if you just want to fill one out for a future date (until you can find that new family member), you may do this as well.
