Who We Are

We are a small rural, county shelter in an area of 524 square miles and a population of about 28,000. We have room for 15 dogs and 7 cats. Please come see our animals ready for adoption, and feel free to take them for a little walk. We are always looking for volunteers to help us.

Adoption Fees

DOGS/puppies: $95
Most dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots/rabies vaccine, heartworm tested and examined by a veterinarian prior to adoption.

CATS/kittens $35
In return for your adoption fee you will receive certificates for a free spay/neuter of the cat, and $10.00 towards the rabies vaccine.

The law requires that all dogs and cats adopted from a shelter be spayed or neutered.

Come Visit Us!

We are open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., except holidays. We are happy to schedule appointments at other times to see the animals we have available. If we are not available when you call, please leave a brief message with your name and number and we will be happy to return your call. We are located on Baseline Road, between Hart and Shelby, about one mile east of Oceana Drive, on the south side of the road by the airport.
