Our Featured Pet...

PANDA BEAR
Panda was on death row at the animal shelter, his days numbered but he was lucky in that he had caught the heart of one of the employees who contacted Merlin's Song for help. He used to help her at the computer and just wanted to be near someone and give love. Unfortunately for Panda he is FIV positive and drools at times as he only has a few teeth left. Otherwise he is perfectly healthy as you can tell by his photo. This gentleman is full of love to give to the right person and is totally non-aggressive toward other cats/kittens. When the food and water bowls are all up to be washed he is allowed to run free and all he wants during that time is to be near a human. He has a world of love to give to the right person(s) and is a very gentle soul with a wonderful purrsonality. If you have an FIV positive cat/kitten that doesn't have a companion or just want a single, loving lap cat Panda is the purrfect purson for you. We look forward to him having a forever home where he can be with someone who will accept his love and give the same kind of love in return.

SPECIAL NOTICE

Beginning October 1, 2006 through November 5, 2006 we will NOT be adopting out any black, white, black & white or dark tortishell cats or kittens. Should you be interested in adding one of these to your family please fill out an application and once approved we will hold your new companion until after November 5th. Thank you for your patience with this necessary precaution to ensure the safety of these cats and kittens during the Halloween season.

Who We Are

We are a not-for-profit, all volunteer, no kill feline rescue organization dedicated to the rescue, treatment, socialization and adoption of stray, unwanted, special needs, injured, neglected and abused felines. Our goal is to heal both physically, mentally and emotionally homeless felines and then place them in loving, caring, permanent homes as lifelong companion animals. Our TAR (Trap-Alter-Return) Babies program is dedicated to feral cats, many of whom were once someone's "pet", then put out to fend for themselves. Thousands of ferals are needlessly put to death each year when Trap-Alter-Return would control the size of the feral colony. They will be vaccinated and altered and then returned to their colonies if they can't be re-socialized for adoption. We will work to maintain a staff of volunteers willing to care for these colonies for the remainder of their lives and improve the quality of that life. We are affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States, ASPCA and tne American Humane Association.

We hope you enjoy the following by nature writer Henry Beston

"We patronize animals for their incompleteness, or their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ourselves, they move finished and complete, gifted with extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They aren't brethren, they aren't underlings; they are other Nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time."
