Our Featured Pet...

Meet Marge!

Marge is a special needs senior! She has a hyper active thyroid and needs to be on medication to treat it and maintain a healthy weight. She can be a bit cranky at times in her old age and would prefer an adult home she could live her life out the way she wants!

Help Comfort Our Homeless Dogs

We recently just re-fenced and placed a roof over our outdoor kennels so our dogs can enjoy the outside! To finish this project we are hoping to get all kennels cemented and would like to place Kurunda dog beds in each run. Kurunda dog beds are fantastic they keep the dog off the ground, are nearly chew proof and are great for dogs with orthopedic issues! IF you would like to help and donate a bed , click here.

About Us...

We are a not for profit no kill animal shelter and rescue facility. Many of our animals are taken from high risk situations such as kill pounds, cruelty investigations, and private residents who can no longer care for their animals. Our organization is privately run and is supported solely on donations from the public. Last year alone, with your help, we placed 191 dogs and 863 cats. From all of us here at M.H.S. we thank you for your continued support for our animals.

Adoption Process

We have applications for both our cats and dogs that potential adopters must fill out. You can email us for the application request which can be sent by email, or fax, and applications are always avalible at our facility.

Feline applications take anywhere from 1 to 3 days to process although we try and process them as quickly as possible and occasionaly can do same day adoptions

Canine applications take 1 to 3 days to process, if there are other dogs in the family a interaction must be conducted before adoption. All members of the household must come and meet the dog. An application must be completed before a dog can be interacted with, but dogs can be viewed in their outdoor pens most days weather pending

We do this to make sure that this is the proper match for you and our dog. Many of our dogs come from abusive or neglctful situtions and often have issues we try and solve before adoptions, but to make sure that this will be a forever adoption we go to many lengths to screen homes
