How to adopt a cat or dog through Meows and BowWows Animal Rescue:

1) Fill out our Pre_Adoption Questionaire completely. It asks for veterinary and /or personal references.
2) The person who is applying to adopt a pet from Meows and BowWows animal Rescue must be 21 years of age or older.
3) Persons applying to adopt the pet should be the person who will be responsible for caring for the animal.
4) No animal can be adopted as a surprise gift. Adoption information will be required from the person receiving the pet .
5) A comprehensive home visit may be required prior to the approval of the adoption application.
6) An adoption fee will apply. $95.00 for cats and $125.00 for dogs. The adoption fee is fully refundable if the adopted pet is returned to Meows & BowWows within 30 days of the adoption.
7) Cats and dogs are adopted locally. Meows & BowWows Animal Rescue does not transport animals long-distance.
8) Make sure all existing dogs/cats in your home are spayed/neutered. They will all need to be spayed or neutered prior to approval of the adoption application.
9) All animals adopted through Meows & BowWows are spayed/neutered unless the pet is too young. With an approved adoption application, an adopter may foster a puppy/kitten, but the adoption will not be finalized until the pet is spayed or neutered.

• Foster a cat or dog: Open your home and your heart by fostering an animal. The devotion and care given during this time allows the animal a second chance to be adopted by a loving home. It helps socialize the animals and prepare them for adoption. As a foster family for Meows & BowWows, you will need to provide the day-to-day care for the pet until that pet finds a permanent home. Our spay/neuter policy is required because not having your pet spayed or neutered is part of the reason so many animals end up in our shelters.

All of the animals being adopted through our rescue have been homeless/rescued once and our policies and procedures are designed so that the animals do not become homeless or require rescue services again.
