McWag Rescue

McWag Rescue is dedicated to the right of every companion animal to live without fear of abuse or abandonment.

We hold a firm belief in the dignity of dogs, their intelligence and dedication to their human companions and we are committed to the need to treat them humanely, provide a high quality of life, protect them, and insure they are cared for and loved the way they deserve. We will not allow a dog to be adopted unless they have been spayed or neutered. Our goal is to find the best home based on the unique needs and personality of each animal. All members of the household, including other pets (owned or housed) must visit with the prospective adoptee prior to adoption approval. We do not place puppies under a year old in households with very young children or where there is not a responsible adult home most of the time. An initial home visit is required prior to placement. .

McWag Rescue is not for profit. All adoption fees and monetary donations are applied directly toward any needed veterinary care, to include insuring each animal is up to date on required vaccinations and has been spayed or neutered prior to adoption, as well as the actual cost of rescuing a shelter dog and providing quality care until adoption.

Make a Donation towards the care of our rescues:

Adopting a Companion: We adopt only to residents of Maryland, Washington D.C. and adjacent States. If you would like to be considered as a forever home for one of our listed pets, you will be asked to complete a detailed application that will be provided upon request. We ask that you answer all questions honestly. While the answers to some questions may be weighed more heavily than others, overall we evaluate the total application and consider all information to include interviews and home visits. We strongly feel that this is our responsibility not only to the companion under consideration but to your household as well.
