Mary's Kitty Korner is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. We are a very small volunteer-run organization that shelters homeless kitties at our adoption center and in loving, foster homes.
We are commited to finding a safe haven for cats that have been abandoned, abused or left homeless due to their owner's lack of ability to care for them.
We Need Your Help
Meet Louis, he is one of three wonderful orange and white boys that came from an abusive and neglectful house. These boys were literally surviving by eating outof garbage cans! They were full of fleas and ear mites and were quite shell shocked. They were also so thin and scrawny when they came to us that they could barely eat, nor did they know what true "cat" food was. We tempted them for weeks with lots of smelly foods and finally we were able to get them to know that food with nutritional value is a good thing! At this point, they are doing great, gaining weight and loving life! They are ready for adoption and get along beautifully with other cats. They are playful and energetic!
Their story is one of many that come our way and we need funds to help these cats get back on the road to recovery. Won't you please click on our "Donation" button if you feel that you would like to help kitties like Louis to have a better life. Without your generosity and sponsorship we are unable to help those that need us most. No amount is too small so please consider making a doantion today. Thank you!!
We are open to the public every weekend and during the week by appointment. Come visit us Saturday 11-2 and Sunday 12-3. Our Granby Adoption Center has so many gorgeous cats to choose from!!! Handsome tuxedos, adorable kittens, Bombay mixes, orange tigers, lovable declaws to name just a few! Our wonderful, cats are just waiting for loving homes.

 Samantha
Samantha is a beautiful calico. She was surrendered to a high kill shelter in NJ and found her way to safety here in CT. She is a very large cat, her former owners obviously didn't care to limit her food intake, so this girl is overweight, but with some food management she can get down to healthy, round figure of a cat. She is very sweet with people, loves attention. She will tolerate other cats but would love to just sit with her person and be petted. Won't you please come and meet this girl, she will bring you lots of joy and keep you warm for sure this winter!!
Jaimie
Jamie is a very nice 2-year-old girl. Her coloring is beautiful - a faded tortoiseshell with more gray than gold. She craves attention from all humans and absolutely loves being petted. The only thing she loves more is playing. She would prefer to be an only kitty but we think she will be fine if she has a mellow feline as a companion. One thing she does not like is dogs, she is fearful of them and will hide. This cat deserves a chance for a wonderful home, she has had a lot of ups and downs in her young life hence how she came to us, but now is yearning for a home where she can be pampered and loved.
 Bonkers
Bonkers is a very lovable boy with gorgeous green eyes - just coming up on two and a half years old. He loves to be petted but also likes to partake of any playing opporunities that come his way. Bonkers has lots of other kitty friends at our shelter in Granby and would do fine in a multi-cat household. Please stop by and visit sweet little Bonkers.
Starr Starr is the cutest little thing you will ever see! His bright BLUE eyes will melt your heart and his beautiful white fur that is as soft as a bunny.... He is very playful and has a lot of energy, so he would be a great addition if you have another playful young cat at home, however he will play alone and can entertain himself just fine! His faviorit toy is a Mylar ball. If you toss it for him he will bring it back to you. Please give us a call or e-mail to find out more about this little guy.
Adoption Process:
Please e-mail or call to let us know which cat you may be interested in adopting. One of our volunteers will contact you and talk with you about the animal. At that time we will answer any questions you may have. An appointment to see the animal will be set up once the initial contact is completed. Once the new owner is ready to take the cat or kitten home, all health records will be forwarded to the new owner's veterinarian. Each home should be able to provide good veterinary care when needed. An adoption fee is required at this time. All of our cats/kittens are returnable, for any reason, at any time. There will be follow-ups with the volunteer handling the adoption so that the transition from Mary's Kitty Korner to your home will be a smooth one.
Foster Recovery Program:
Are you unable to take on the long-term commitment of owning a cat/kitten but want to help an animal in need?
Mary’s Kitty Korner is accepting applications for caring animal lovers willing to open their homes and hearts to cats/kittens requiring a safe place to stay while they recover from an unexpected illness or accident.
These animals are in urgent need of extra attention, love, and aid that just can’t be provided sufficiently in a shelter environment. MKK will pay for the animal’s vet care, medication, food as well as provide a kennel/crate and ongoing support.
If you are willing to foster one of these special needs kitties during their short-term recovery, or until we find them a permanent home, please contact MKK at 379-4141 or 930-3696 and mention our foster and recovery program
Shelter Wish List:
Many people are unable to foster a cat, but would still love to help in some way. We always have cats that have veterinary needs such as spay/neuter and medication. Food and litter alone can gobble up our funds in no time. Since we are all volunteers and rely entirely on adoption fees and donations, we sometimes have to turn away cats simply because there are not enough funds to cover their expenses. Any donation is appreciated, whether it be $5 or $10 and will go a long way in helping our cats! We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, and therefore all donations are tax deductible.
- Monetary donations
- Dry cat food
- Cat treats
- Cat toys (cat nip toys, things to chase and bat)
- Cat litter (feline pine)
- Food and water bowls
- Laundry and dish detergent
- Paper towels, sponges
- Bath-size and hand-size towels and wash cloths
- Cat beds
Scratching Posts:
In an effort to raise money to spay/neuter and care for our rescue kitties in foster care, we are currently selling cat scratching posts. They are about 3 ft high and the cats love them! Especially when they are doused with catnip! They really do work. A great investment at only $40 - very inexpensive compared to pet supply stores. Great way to preserve your furniture too! Please e-mail if interested in purchasing one of these awesome kitty scratching posts.
