Lucky Leash Rescue, Inc., is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to providing rescue services, vet care, foster care, and adoptive placement to stray and abandoned dogs and cats. Lucky Leash Rescue saves animals from all over the city of Houston with a primary focus on BARC, Houston’s city pound.
OUR ADOPTABLE PETS
All of our animals are vaccinated, spayed or
neutered, micro-chipped, and on heartworm preventative. All animals in our
program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence
until it is adopted or when foster homes are full pets are boarded at an area kennel. Please consider becoming a foster parent and opening your home to a dog or cat in need.
ADOPTING A
FRIEND FOR LIFE
Lucky Leash Rescue requires the application be filled out so that we may assist you in finding a special, compatible companion to join your family. With this information, we minimize the risk of a failed adoption. We do not adopt dogs or cats on a “first come, first served” basis, but rather make every attempt to match families with the most compatible pets. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DECLINE ANY APPLICATION FOR ANY REASON.
If you are interested in any of the pets you see listed on our web site, please:
1)Fill out and
email the adoption application to luckyleashrescue@gmail.com. Don't worry about completing the last 3 pages at this time as those require signature and are done at the actual adoption, but please do read them in case you have any questions.
2)After receiving
your application, we will verify with your vet the care on your current animals.
3)We will contact
you to set up a meeting to introduce you and your family members to the pet.
4)If the meeting goes well and we feel its a good match for the pet and family we will set up a home visit with you. During the home visit, we introduce the dog or cat to other pets in the home to make sure everyone does well and the pets are a good match.
5)We finalize the adoption contract and you pay the adoption fee.
