LowRider Dachshund Rescue

Chickasha, OK

Our Mission

LowRider Dachshund Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving Dachshunds/Dachshund mixes from kill shelters, puppy mills and owner surrenders. We have recently started taking in other breeds from puppy mills as space allows.

In 2008, LRDR president realized the amount of dachshunds being euthanized in shelters all around OKC. With the help of Amber Lutrell, they decided it was time to step in. So in late 2008, LowRider Dachshund Rescue was founded.

We take in 200+ homeless and unwanted doxies a year and find them loving fur-ever homes! We are staffed completely by unpaid volunteers. We do not have a facility, all of our dogs are currently fostered in private foster homes through the metro.

Our Mission

Our mission since 2008 has been to save homeless and unwanted Dachshund and Dachshund mixes. No matter where they come from, we get them the vet care that they need and provide them with the love and care they have been deprived of. We will educate the public on the reasons to rescue a pet, benefits to spay and neuter.

Adoption Policy

We try and make adopting a Dachshund as easy as possible while still assuring a safe and secure place for our fur-kids. We require that you fill out an adoption application and allow us to conduct a home visit, then we can match you up with the perfect LowRider! All of our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccination, microchipped, heart worm negative.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application https://www.lowriderrescue.com/adopt

Our adoption fees vary by how much vet care we have in our rescues. Adult dogs start at $250, puppies start at $350 and full breed dachshund puppies start at $650. All of our dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed / neutered, microchipped and heart worm negative. Any and all puppies will be available for adoption after 12 weeks of age, they will have completed all puppy shots and have time to recover from the spay/neuter.
