I am reaching out for help to pay an enormous vet bill that was acquired due to a reckless backyard breeder.. We were called upon to help some animals that were abandoned in a nereby community.. When we arrived the site was horrific. The house the folks were using was in bad shape because they had minature goats, rabbits, cats, small and large dogs inside and a Maccaw. They took some of the animals in their RV, but some were placed in kennels and loaded on a horse trailer that was located after strong efforts of another rescuer. They are doing fine. But we found on location 10 dogs, 17 cats, the bird (he died later) and a rabbit. The cats had to spend the week with the vet so they can be deliced and deflea and checkups. The dogs spent a couple of days as well and so now we have an enormous vet bill.. Most of the dogs have been placed and doing well. We lost one dog due to heart problems. What we have left is listed on our Petfinder.com site here.. We don't normally do cats, but I was not going to leave those poor babies in the elements of cold and rain another day. All of the cats have been placed, but, We can still use any help offered to reduce the enormous vet expenses we acquired.
We are always helping rescues in need and would appreciate any help for vetting. Some come in with medical needs that cost beyond the Adoption fees, So any help would be greatly appreciated. For more information you could call or email us anytime. If anyone would like to donate to help our vet expenses you can also call our vet and ask how you can donate to our Lil' Tykes account and help cover some of the expenses we acquire. The Ozark Vet Clinic in Ozark, Al. at 334-774-5940 Or All Creatures Animal Hospital, Ozark, AL. at 334- 445-CARE.We appreciate any help and God Bless each and everyone..

Hello there, we are "Lil' Tykes Rescue & Adoption" (Pet Love & Companion Finders). Our Motto : "We have Big Hearts for Wet Noses."
We mainly work with small breeds, but occasionly there will be that special large dog that needs our help as well. Our main Website has several links with great info about breeds, training, Vets, and finding pets. We strive to help to the best of our ability.. The links are on the internet, but sometimes it helps to bring them to one place. Hope you enjoy our site below.
As of July 1, 2006 the State of Alabama has passed the Mandatory Spay/Neuter Law for all animals coming out of Shelters and Rescues. So, please do not ask for us to leave an animal unspayed or unneutered. We have always been Mandatory, but now the law backs us up.
Hey Alabama take a look at a new Site on the web to help locate Lost Companions.. The Pet Rescue will post pic, info, etc. to help you locate your lost companion.. They even email any surrounding Shelters and Rescues this info so we can keep an eye out for your lost companion..
So please check out the site, save it to your faves and we wish all the best when trying to locate your lost companions..
In the U.S. alone OVER 4.2 million animals are euthanized every year in Shelters and Rescues like us can only save so many at a time. Please Adopt a Rescue and stop buying from Puppymills and Breeders. Please pass the word that the animals are here for us to tend to, not murder. They need homes just like you and me.
Check with Petfinder.com about their Medical Insurance.. Click the link below to sign up for yours today!! This insurance covers several medical needs for your new companion.. No matter what we do for them sometimes they get hurt or sick and this insurance will help with some of the cost.. So check it out today and protect not only your new companion, but your pockets as well.

Our Group is working towards reducing the number of animals abused, abandoned and neglected by offering special services designed to increase the number of animals that are spayed/neutered. We also help to educate pet owners, and operate a small animal sanctuary and placement service.
This is an animal welfare group focused on the improvement of conditions in publicly financed pounds, animal shelters, and private-owned kennels. We campaign for lower cost spay/neuter fees and are advocates for political and legislative reform.
We believe that pet overpopulation can only be accomplished through prevention.
Adopting a friend
We do have an adoption fee of $175 at this time. This covers their Vet bill for Spay/Neutering, Shots, Heartworm Check, new Harness & Leash combo and a 6 month Heartworm prevenative.
We DO NOT SHIP animals-but we do Adopt Out of State, we wish to meet all prospective adopters in person. WE DO ADOPT OUT OF STATE!! ALL ADOPTIONS CONSIST OF ADOPTION FORMS & INHOME CHECK!! If you live some distance, ( ie out of state) we can work with you as long as you are willing to accept a visit from a neighboring rescue person, who would do our in-home for us.
In-Home Check: this means that someone would come visit, talk and make sure that the Companion you are wanting to adopt is coming to a safe home and that this is what you and all involved want. Please don't let this scare you away, this is done because all the Companions rescued were someone elses before, some were abused, rescued, treated and retrained to be suitable for adoption. The Rescuers do what they can with time and patience to let these Companions know that not all Humans are Abusive and that someone will love them for the rest of their lives. No monies can cover the Expense, time and effort Everyone in Rescues put forth to help get new and better homes for Our Rescued Companions.
Sometimes we might be able to get an adopted kid on a transport if the adopters live too far to drive. So there will be times when we can send our dogs without meeting you.. As long as you and your family comply with our rules. Which includes filling out our Adoption & Reference forms, allowing an inhome check to be done by us or someone from a rescue/shelter. Once all requirements are met, we can work with volunteers on transporting, sometimes this can be done and sometimes it cannot.. Might be that you the adopter would have to help with the transport..Or you might have to make a special trip for your new companion!
NOTE:
Due to the high cost of fuel, if we need to tranpsort any distance over 30 miles we will have to ask for travel expenses to cover fuel costs only. Unless it is an over night transport, then we will also need some help in the motel fee.
We are bringing in new friends all the time, so if you don't see something you want now, Please come back frequently to see what might be here.. When contacting us, please give us a general idea where you are located so we can find out whether or not it is possible to get a prospective adoptee to you or not. Phone #'s are helpful, also. We are working on a site where you can find our adoption forms online automatically. Will update that when we have the forms completed, in the meantime, if interested we can email you the forms which can be filled out and returned either email or mail. We have been real busy, so please if you call, leave a name and number so someone can get back to you or you can call back later. Best to email. When emailing, please give us a location, there are some areas that are just to hard for us to get help for transportation, unless you the adoptee are willing to come get your prospective companion. Airline flights are pretty much out of the question, we have checked and due to Sept.11th most do not want pets except in the cargo areas and most of these babies would not survive the cold, airless cargo area. So please do not try to fly a dog. Either make arrangements to come get your companion or let's see what can be worked out to help get your companion a little closer to you with Volunteers.
