Adopting a friend

We seek loving, quality, permanent homes to adopt our animal friends. To adopt cats/kittens, please phone Sharon at 316-207-7977 and to adopt dogs/puppies, please phone Pat at 316-807-8473. For the care provided prior to adoption, we request a donation of $85 for cats and $120 for dogs. If the pet is too young for spaying/neutering at adoption, we require an additional "promise deposit" of $50 which is returnable upon completion of spaying/neutering. LAPP is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, so donations are tax deductible.

We do not adopt out of Kansas and rarely more than 1 hour distance from Wichita. Exceptions can be made, but call us BEFORE you come visit. We will return your call if the pet you want is still available for adoption. We do require a fenced yard and a veterinary reference before adopting one of our dogs. We also will plan a home visit.

Warren Theatres’ 2nd Annual Party for the Pets to Benefit Lifeline Animal Placement & Protection (Wichita, KS) Lifeline Animal Placement & Protection, Inc., a nonprofit, no-kill shelter located in Wichita, will host its 2nd Annual Party for the Pets, a fundraising event sponsored by Warren Theatres. Centered around the upcoming release of 20th Century Fox’s comedy Space Chimps, the family-friendly festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 at the east Warren Theatre at 13th St. and K-96. Food and beverages will be provided followed by a 6:30 p.m. showing of the movie. Space Chimps features three NASA chimps that are sent to a galaxy far, far away. Two have 'The Right Stuff,' and the other, a good natured goofball, has 'The Wrong Stuff.' They find themselves on a strange, uncharted planet, where they embark on a fantastical journey to save its inhabitants from a tyrannical leader. A surprise ending makes this the perfect movie for both kids and adults. Tickets for the evening’s activities are $20 for adults, $15 for children six to 12 and children under six are free. Proceeds from ticket sales go to benefit Lifeline. The licensed shelter was founded in 1997 by a former nun, Mary Pat Morriss. Hundreds of dogs and cats have been adopted from the shelter over the past decade, and it is currently home to about 100 dogs and 100 cats. The pets all receive medical services, food and shelter under Pat’s care while they await their forever home. Funds from Party for the Pets will go to support facility repairs at the 100-year old shelter, including projects such as paving dog runs, replacing fencing and upgrading the cat quarters and main building as well as daily operating costs, food and veterinary care. "We strive every day to provide the best-possible quality of care for our pets, and we know that funds raised through this wonderful event will help make the necessary upgrades to the shelter possible," says Morriss. "We can’t thank Bill Warren and his staff enough for making this exciting community event possible. Bill has always been a friend to animals and we are grateful for the theatre’s support." To purchase tickets for Party for the Pets, contact Morriss 807-8473. Tickets must be purchased by July 20. Call today for more information.
