LIFEHOUSE UPDATE- Happy Valentine's Month from all of us here at Lifehouse. What better gift of love to give yourself or your family than a new furry member of the family? Lifehouse has plenty of furry babies available. We currently have 67 pets up for adoption as of February 9th. (4 kittens, 9 cats, 35 dogs, 19 puppies). We have done some massive life saving during January and are hoping for adoptions to follow to help these animals get a forever home. Our next adoption fair will be held at the Hermitage Petsmart on Saturday, Feb. 11th for a big special event with several rescues. We will be there from 9am until 1:00 pm. We will have a great selection of dogs, puppies, cats and kittens so plan to come out. Please note that we are having a food shortage hit us very soon as due to our previous Nutro dontaion supply is being cut off as a result of dishonest people from other rescues trying to take the donated food and sell on Craigslist, thus all rescues are being cut off. It is sad that dishonest people cause hurt to the innocent animals that truly need help. We need help feeding our animals that we currently have and to be able to continue to help rescue more. If you are local please bring a bag of dog food by Petsmart in Hermitage during our adoption event from 9am to 1pm this Saturday, Feb 11th. Our biggest need is adult food. We request that the donations be no lower quality than Pedigree or Purina if bought from the grocery store. The lower quality foods cause many intestinal issues. We are also in need of cat litter. Thank you for your support!
Lifehouse Animal Refuge and Rehabilitation is at this time FULL, we are unable to take any surrendered pets at this time. We can however create a courtesy listing on our website or take down all your information and add you to our waiting list. Lifehouse does not own a shelter, we purely operate out of foster homes, so we are also now requiring a $100 surrender fee. The $100 will cover food, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, and any medical needs that may arise. Also before we can take any dog we will need medical documentation of a negative Heartworm test. For cats we will need medical documentation of a negative FeLV (feline leukemia) test.

We would also like to show our support of the K9 Pychology Center, owned by the amazing David Frensley. David is a behaviorist who has worked wonders for so many of our dogs. Not only is he a talented behaviorist but he fights for the underdogs. He is an advocate for shelter animals and stands up for their rights when they have no voice. Please use David Frensley for all of your behavioral needs. They educate owners and Rehabilitate dogs with behavior issues. Photobucket "Many shelters, however, have determined that these dogs are not worthy of their help. They have determined that Pit Bulls do not deserve to live. The more circumspect among them might not say so publicly. They may couch it in more benign terms, shifting the blame to others, claiming that no one will adopt them, convincing themselves that only a ban and death will keep them out of harm's way, but the end result is exactly the same. By their actions, words, policies, and failure to speak positively on behalf of pit bulls, they stoke the fire that has at its core only one end: their mass killing. To a breed abused for fighting, victimized by an undeserved reputation, relegated to certain death in shelters, add one more torment: those who should be their most ardent protectors have instead turned against them. The humane movement has joined the witch hunt. The very agencies whose officers seek out dog fighters and abusers in order to "save" Pit Bulls often relegate the dogs to locked and barren corridors away from public view with no hope of adoption, regardless of their temperament. Ultimately, all of them -- the healthy and friendly ones, side-by-side with the hopelessly sick or vicious -- are put to death."- Nathan Winograd Photobucket Life House Animal Refuge and Rehabilitation has been rescuing animals for 12 years this year. We have a core group of dedicated animal lovers, advocates, foster families, volunteers, trainers, and a phenominal vet who share a common ambition...to help animals in need. We hope to someday make a dent in the ever growing plight of these animals. Lifehouse is currently in the procces of trying to find a piece of property suitable for an animal rescue facility so that our rescued friends have a warm and loving safe haven to reside in while awaiting their forever homes. We are a licensed 510c3 non profit organization. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible.

Who We Are

Photobucket Lifehouse is a small organization that works very hard on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned, abused, neglected, injured, and stray animals. We focus mainly on dogs but will occasioanlly accept a cat or kitten. We are not a shelter with kennels, we rely soley on our foster home network to take in these animals until we find a suitable forever home. All of our animals are completely vetted prior to adoption. We have them spayed or neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and groomed if need be. We are strictly no kill unless an animal is beyond treatment, at that point we use humane euthanasia to end any suffering. We will not take in aggressive dogs no ifs, ands, or buts! We temperment test every animal before accepting it into our program. The majority of money used to care for all of our animals comes strictly out of our own pockets, so if you would like to donate old blakets, towels, dog beds, toys, food, cat litter, or make a monetary donation to us or to our account , please click the donate link above .We would greatly appreciate it more than words can express.

Adopting a friend

Photobucket If you are interested in adopting one of our furbabies please e-mail us for an application. Our adoption fees range depending on the individual animal. Typically it is $125.00 - $150 unless it has required extensive vet care and at that point we do increase it to help offset our vet bill. We require the animal to be completely vetted prior to adoption. We also insist on a home visit and do check personnal/vet references. If you live out of state you must be willing to come and pick up the dog in person unless other arrangements can be made. We do not ship so please don't ask! We look foward to hearing from you and hope that we can introduce you to your new lifetime companion.

Come Visit Us!

Photobucket If you would like to meet one of our animals in person please email an application. We must have an approved application on file before setting up an appointment to meet one of the kids. Hurry....The animals are anxiously awaiting!!
Patented Kuranda Dog Beds We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
