Our Featured Pet...DELANIE!!
Delanie is a petite Collie mix who was rescued last winter before her and her siblings were "destroyed" on an Amish farm in Iowa. She is the last to be adopted and is waiting ever so patiently. Delanie loves to please and would do fine in a home with children. She could benefit from obedience training to learn adult dog manners. She is only 6 months old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. An adoption fee of $150 applies. Indoor homes only please.

Who We Are
Last Hope Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which formed in March of 2004. We help animals regardless of age, breed, location or cercumstances. We promise to do our best to help you with your animal situation. We may not be able to take your animal, but we have many resources available to help you in finding your animal a new home. We are not a shelter or pound. We do not have visiting hours and all of our animals are not in one location. All of the animals listed on our site live in peoples homes. All of the animals live amoung the foster homes animals and children. Since our formation we have rescued over 600 animals and placed them in wonderful forever homes. Please take a look at our adoptable pet list and see if you have a place in your heart and home for a rescue animal. Call Shannon at 319-241-2059 or Sonia at 319-573-4444 to set up a time to meet one of the many available animals.
Adopting a friend
Through March we are offering two cat adoptions for the cost of one! Adopt two fully vetted cats for $75.00!
All of our animals live in foster homes. We feel that this is a great advantage to adopting one of our animals. We evaluate the dogs behavior on a daily basis to ensure that they are adopted into a home that is best suited for their needs. Our foster homes also work on crate training as well as house training and basic house manners. We work with our cats on using a scratching post and litter training. Most of our adoptable animals live in homes with animals as well as children. If an animal needs to be adopted into a home with no other animals it will state that on their information page. We will do our very best in helping you pick out the right companion animal to add to your family. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs or cats please call the number listed on the pets information page. All of our adoptable animals are current on vaccinations, including a distemper combination and rabies vaccination. All animals are also spayed or neutered if age appropriate. During the months of April through November dogs are on heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative. Animals are microchiped as well. An adoption fee applies to all animals and varies depending on the animal. Each animal adopted comes with 30 free days of shelter care insurance. Courtesty Listings
If you have an animal that needs to be placed in a new home you have the option of a courtesy listing. We will list your animal on this site and through our network of flyers that are posted across Eastern Iowa. We will treat your animal like it is a Last Hope animal and will find a home that is best suited for their needs. We'll process the adoption as we would the animals that are in our foster program. Please email
jennifer@lasthoperescueia.org to learn more about courtesy listings.
