Update 1/10/10: I'm very disappointed that I have not been able to find my horses. I made a very bad choice when I adopted them to Nathan Heckler. He certainly had me fooled. I thought he was a kind, caring man. Shame on me. LAP Dog Rescue needs your help with the return of two STOLEN horses... UPDATE: Cara Kolojaco contacted me asking me to remove her name from my website. She claimed she never had my horses. I have several eye witness who claim otherwise. Cara, Please return my horses! Lane and Star were adopted by NATHAN HECKLER and later "given away" by Mr. Heckler to Cara Kolojaco in strict violation of his contract. Ms. Kolojaco was aware of the situation and has refused to return the horses and may have sold them recently. Mr. Heckler has refused to take responsibility for his actions, leaving LAP Dog Rescue with the monumental task of raising money to secure an attorney to try to retain custody of both Star and her sister Lane. If anyone knows of an attorney who would consider taking this case on a pro bono basis, please contact LAP Dog Rescue immediately.

News

Every reputable rescuer will tell you this is a devastating event. We do our very best to place the animals we rescue in the very best homes with people who are caring, loving and abiding. Lane and Star were born here on my property (to two PMU mares rescued at the Magnolia auction) and imprinted at birth by me. I fear they will be passed around unknowingly and may end up on a truck to Mexico or Canada. I pray every night that won't happen. Because of Mr. Heckler's inability to adhere to his contract, I am now faced with retaining an attorney to try to find my horses. It is well known that rescues do NOT make a profit so this will be a costly endeavor for LAP Dog Rescue. I am trying to find an attorney where I might be able to set up a fund to help with the return of my horses.

Who We Are

LAP Dog Rescue stands for Lisa's Awesome Pets. I am not taking any animals at this time. Instead, I am focusing on finding homes for the few dogs and cats that have been in my program for a very long time. Once they are placed, I will continue to offer boarding to those who have adopted animals from me and foster for a select few rescue groups on a very limited basis. I would also like to focus on the animals that are dumped in Waller. Waller does not have an animal control and has just recently formed a humane society. It is up to the kindness and generocity of our citizens to help those animals that have been left on our country roads to fend for themselves. 'TIS THE SEASON. PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO YOUR LOCAL RESCUE GROUP OR SHELTER
