Because we will not do on-the-spot adoptions, we will do pre-approval adoptions. All that means is that you can submit an application prior to meeting our cats or kittens and then if you decide to adopt one you are able to adopt a cat or kitten the same day that you meet them. Adoption Applications are the first step to taking your animal home. If you have settled on a specific cat please click on the link below and fill out an adoption application. Adoption applications MUST be submitted AT LEAST 24 hours prior to meeting and taking home your animal, as this will give us time to process the application. This does not include weekends or holidays.
News
OUR BEDS ARE FULL!!! WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING IN CATS, HOWEVER WE WILL STILL TAKE IN LITTERS DUE TO THE KITTEN SEASON!!!! Kittens Unlimited now has a shelter to call home! We have finally finished moving into and arranging our new shelter. Because of the way the arrangements are, we have someone there most all the time and this means we can do adoptions at about any time! Please email us at kittensunlimited@hotmail.com for more details on how to visit our shelter. Because of the number of animals that are dumped off at shelters and the fact that we do not have security cameras we will only give the address of the new shelter to people who have filled out applications and are serious about adopting.
Adoption Fees and Details.
CATS:
The adoption fee is $60 for one or $100 for two cats. The adoption fee is $75 for one or $130 for two kittens. This fee includes:
Spay/Neuter
1st set of shots (minimum)
Tested negative for Feline AIDS
Tested negative for Feline Leukemia
Treated for fleas
Treated for worms
Clarification: Combo tests are done to the mothers of litters. Our vet feels this is a safe way to determine if the litter is positive or negative. It has not yet failed us and is a common practice for shelters. Vaccinations are done "in house" (by our shelter) and ped. spay or neuter is done by our vet along with combo tests.
Who We Are
Kittens Unlimited was founded in 2002 by Pamela Iversen. It is a small,
non-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) rescue that does its best to help with the
overwhelming cat overpopulation problem in Ohio. We rescue cats from
pound and owners who can no longer take care of them as well as taking
in strays from the local animal control. We are
quick to respond to emails and, unless something is going on, will
return
any adoption requests within 2 days. Or you can email
kittensunlimited@hotmail.com. We also do our best to keep this website
up
to date.
If you are interested in adopting a kitten, we will need an adoption application filled out. We will contact you within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving and reviewing your application. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, please email us. We may be missing information on your application and be unable to contact you.
What is Kittens Unlimited?
Kittens Unlimited is located in a barn in Canal Winchester. We have a
large barn and are looking forward to opening our shelter to farm
animals and horses. We have several stalls, a house, and our shelter.
Our
shelter is where our cats are kept. Because we do not believe in
caging
our animals other than for medical reasons, our cats are kept in rooms
according to their age, needs, and personalities and are matched with
cats with similar personalities. We have a Volunteer, Deb, who lives
in
the house next to the shelter so we are sure that our animals have 24
hour care. All of our
animals receive some of the best Vet care, seeing Dr. Daniel Beer with
Care Pet Clinic here in Columbus and if there is an emergency or the
animal has something Dr. Beer is unable to treat, we take them to
MedVet. It is clear our animals get the best care.
Come Visit Us!
Kittens Unlimited is located just outside of Canal Winchester.
Because all the Volunteers at Kittens Unlimited also work, all
viewings are
done by appointment and only after the Adoption Application has been
submitted to the shelter's satisfaction. The application does not
obligate you to adopt but makes the process go much smoother. The
shelter
number is 614-920-3347, however we respond quicker to email. Anyone who
needs to speak with a director may call Pamela Iversen at
614-403-4088.
Please note: We do not do on-the-spot adoptions, as we feel that adopting a kitten should not be a spur-of-the-moment decision. Kittens Unlimited CANAL WINCHESTER, OH
