At K.I.S.S., we take pride in the care we give to our cats. Before any cat goes up for adoption, they are tested for FIV and FelV, cleaned (de-flea, and bathe if necessary), de-wormed, and treated for medical conditions. Many of them are spayed / neutered. The vet care we give these cats would cost you several hundred dollars, so you get a LOT with your adoption fee. There is often no need to take your adopted cat to the vet until its next wellness checkup in about a year from the adoption date. If the cat that you adopt from us has not been spayed / neutered, our vet will give you a special discount for this service. Our cats all live in our volunteer's homes. We know the personality of our cats and can help you to select the one that is best for you! We often accept applications for pre-adoption. Autumn is our featured pet.
Because of being shy, Autumn has been overlooked at our recent adoption days. From her description — "Autumn's markings are like a pile of fallen leaves with a little pixie face peering out."
While that describes her striking looks, it cannot tell you about her sweet personality.
We can tell you that Autumn will take a bit of extra work to incorporate into your home. Her first instinct will be to hide, but she will bond with you! She does enjoy being held and loves to snuggle into your arms and purr.

Our cats love to sleep on Kuranda Cat beds, but we don't have enough for everyone.
If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another cat to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda cat bed.
Any items donated that we cannot use ourselves will be passed along to help the animals in our local animal control facilities. NOTHING goes to waste!

K.I.S.S. is not a shelter, but strictly a small foster program that can handle a limited number of cats.
We do not accept owner surrenders. Please contact your local animal control facility.
Most of our cats come from our local animal control facility. When we have extra room, we accept cats who may be in danger of being euthanized at other facilities.

Thank you to everyone who found it in their hearts to be that "Someone Special" to one of our kitties. We do believe you are all special to care about our guys as much as we do.
K.I.S.S. evolved from a group of women who desperately wanted to make a difference in the lives of unwanted cats and kittens. Meeting each other "by chance" they following their hearts, finding forever homes for their homeless cats and kittens, many of which were turned away from shelters because they were full.
Adopting a pet is a lifelong decision! (The life of the the pet , that is, and that could be 15-20 years or longer). We pride ourselves on nurturing relationships prior to and after the adoption. A PURRFECT match is our GOAL! Another reminder that adopting a cat is a 15-20 year commitment.
An approved application can reserve your cat/kitten. Please do not forget our adults. No doubt most of them got adopted as little kittens (as ours do now), and someone had promised to love them unconditionally. Now they are homeless for whatever the reason... Please adopt one of our LOVING ADULTS..............Many beautiful adult cats are getting passed over for kittens...just remember in 6 months your cute little kitten will start looking like an adult cat!
Because our cats live in the homes of our volunteers, we know which cats will do well in different situations. For example, some of our cats need a quiet environment, and would not do well with children. We will help you pick out the cat that would do best in your family situation.
ALL CATS/KITTENS MUST BE SPAYED/NEUTERED. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. All cats/kittens that go to their new adoptive home are up to date with vaccinations, FIV/FelV tested, and dewormed. All adult cats are spayed/ neutered. All kittens if of age/weight are spayed/neutered before they leave us.
K.I.S.S. reserves the right to deny any adoption based on it's own discretion.
We do not have a facility. All adoptions are done either through private appointment or weekends at PETSMART, Rockaway Mall or at PETCO at the Roxbury Mall in Ledgewood.

Get directions to Petco from Google or from Mapquest. PetCo is in the old Wiz / Expo store at the Roxbury Mall, across the parking lot from Home Depot and Staples, and across the access road from PC Richards.
