Who We Are

We are a small group of volunteers responding to the needs of homeless pets in our community. Most of our pets are strays, were rescued from our local county animal control shelter, or are discarded puppymill dogs. (Sorry, we cannot accept puppies or kittens at this time, unless you are willing to allow us to take the mother to be spayed at your expense.) We do not have a physical shelter, the cats and dogs foster in our homes where their physical, medical, and psychological needs are attended to. All dogs are temperament tested, and receive training in basic obedience.

Adopting A Friend

Our goal is to make the best possible match between dog/cat and adopter. The adoption procedure begins with submission of an application. (See below.) Once the Board gives its initial approval, we do a vet reference check and a home visit. Upon satisfactory completion of these requirements, we proceed to an adoption and contract. If we are unable to find the right home locally we are happy to consider homes outside our geographical area, but we do not ship pets; adopters must be able and willing to pick up the dog/cat and complete the contract. Please understand that because these pets foster in private homes and are not in a shelter, we are able to make arrangements for potential adopters to meet dogs or cats only after we have received a completed application.

The adoption fee for cats is $90 and covers spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV testing, worming, flea treatment, microchip, and FVRCP vaccination. (The fee for a companion cat is reduced when both are adopted together. We prefer to place kittens under a year of age in pairs whenever possible.) The adoption fee for puppies under six months is $250, for puppies over 6 months and for adult dogs up to 7 years old the adoption fee is $200, and for dogs over 7 years of age the adoption fee is $150. This fee covers spay/neuter, microchip, worming, flea treatment, heartworm antigen test (adults), rabies and DHPP vaccinations. We also have a special Seniors To Seniors program, please contact us for more information.
