We are currently having to stop all animal intake to our rescue, because of a serious lack of funds, fosters, and volunteers. We do not want to do this, but we can only start taking in more animals if we get more assistance. With the economy the way it is, adoptions have ground to a halt. We are recieiving a ton of surrenders and we are spending at least $100 on each of them for their spay/neuters, plus if they need medically treated and their food and bedding while they are here. We need fosters. Our rescue is completely full and these animals are not getting the attention they deserve. We need volunteers on a weekly basis, for animal socialization, cage cleaning, and even animal transport to and from vet appointments and foster homes. We clean cages every Thursday (please check with us for times that we will definitely be cleaning), and need at least one volunteer to help us (preferably 2-3). If we do not recieve more assistance we will be forced to stop assisting our local community with their rabbit, guinea pig, rat, etc. rescues, and we really don't want to do that. We are the only specifically small animal rescue in our area and if we can't help the animals who will? Please email at judges.park@yahoo.com if you can assist us in any way. We also do accept funds for our spay/neuter program at Azeem0510@yahoo.com (our paypal account). We are not a non-profit, though we are in the process of becoming incorporated, but we also need to raise funds for that as well!

Our featured pet!
Our featured rabbit of the month is Angel! She is a 3 year old Himalayan rabbit, about 7-8 pounds. Angel is in need of a home that will understand her. She can be cage agressive and she definitely prefers men. But when she loves you, she really loves you, and she can be a cuddlebun, as long as she trusts you and knows that you won't hurt her. She loves to be pet, is 100% housetrained, and is a very easy keeper (she gains weight very easily, so she is on an all timothy hay and veggies diet). This poor girl has been bounced around her whole life, and all she wants is a home to call her own. Please consider giving that to her today!
Help needed!!
Judge's Park is in the process of applying for non-profit status. We need someone with experience to help us through this. So we are looking for donations of time and expertise to help us go through the lengthy process, ideally, a lawyer who wants to donate their time!! Please email if you are interested!!
Judge's Park New Services!
Along with small animal rescue (see below), Judge's Park now offers small animal boarding and grooming! Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Rats, and other small animals can stay here in a home environment the entire time that you are away! We can usually provide cages (but we prefer their own to make sure they are comfortable). Our home is quiet, and we have 5 years of small animal experience. We can give medications, shots, sub-q fluids, etc. daily if needed. I am certified in pet first aid by the red cross and always have two first aid kits and supplies on hand. Rates are $8 a day for rabbits (per cage: $10 a day for pairs), $5 a day (per cage) for Guinea pigs and rats, and $3 a day for hamsters and other small rodents. Food must be provided by you. If your animals eat Oxbow food, food is not required, but there will be an additional fee of $1 a day per animal.
Playtime (out of cage run around time) is available for small animals: $5 for one hour. Grooming is also available: Nail clipping - $10 (animals adopted from Judge's Park always get their nails cut for FREE), Bottom cleaning, brushing/mat removal, baths - $5-25 (depending on the amount of time needed to complete the job). Please call us at 724-272-0378 for further information and to make an appointment! For an additional fee for gas, pickup of your pet can be provided
We also provide local in your home pet sitting as well for any type of pet from fish to horses. We will come to your home to take care of your animal (near the New Castle, Youngstown area). Please email or call for more information.
Our recommendations
We use Oxbow products, and we recommend them to our adopters: http://www.oxbowhay.com/ We recommend before you adopt that you research the animal you are adopting!!! For rabbits, go to www.rabbit.org. For guinea pigs, go to http://www.guineapigcages.com/ or http://www.guinealynx.info/ Please research the animal you want to adopt!!!! These are new family members that require you to know very specifically about their needs. Any questions you have about adoption or care can be sent to Judge's Park and we will try and answer any question you have!
News
Update:
Help needed!! I am posting up a wish list for Judge's Park for the winter, as there are some things we really need but cannot afford, and if anyone has any of these items laying around, please help out and give it to Judge's Park!!
Wish List:
Heavy duty vacuum cleaner (preferably a dyson pet hair vacuum)
Blankets (that is what lines the rabbit pens).
Large size cages (C and C is preferred; our guinea pig pairs are in at least a 4 foot by 2 foot cage. Our rabbits are in pens, dog sized, that are in any pet store.
chew toys for the small animals. (www.busybunny.com or www.bunnybytes.com)
Newspaper for the bottom of their cages (only the newsprint, not the colored ads). We also like cardboard, boxes preferably, with no dyes/glues/tape on them for the bunnies to play in and chew.
Veggies
Oxbow based foods, Timothy pellets for the adult rabbits, alfalfa pellets for the young rabbits, guinea pig timothy pellets, Oxbow rat food, Oxbow hamster food.
Timothy hay! Hay is a vital part of their everyday diet. We buy bales for $3.50, but we would like to find a steady supplier that we could get it for cheaper or free.
Gift certificates to any major pet store would be extremely helpful as well!
So if you can help out, email!!!
Judge's Park is official! Though small, we will grow large in time. As of now I just have small animals for adoption, but in the future I hope to progress to all animals. I sometimes accept guinea pigs, we ask for a $25.00 fee per guinea pig to cover expenses while here, and all guinea pig supplies with them (cage, bowl, water bottle). I sometimes accept rabbits (uneutered with a $60 fee (barely pays for a neuter of a rabbit and only covers 1/2 of the spays), and neutered with a $20 fee), plus all supplies I can complimentarily list guinea pigs or rabbits if you send me a digital picture on email and a description. WE DO NOT TAKE IN DOGS OR CATS, or anything larger than a rabbit. Please do not call about us taking in dogs or cats, we do not have the space or money for them.
Who We Are
I am a very small rescue, helping as many animals as I can. Currently I am working out of my home, but hopefully will someday move to a bigger facility and start adopting out dogs, cats, horses, and other assorted animals! The shelter is named after my soulhorse, a horse who inspired me to do what I do, and who died before we had nearly enough time together. This is for you Judge...
Adopting a friend
**“Please email if you are interested in adoption. We respond to all emails within 24 hours. If you have not heard from us within that space of time, email again at our main email judges.park@yahoo.com or our alternate email, Azeem0510@yahoo.com . If we still have not responded to emails, call, 724-272-0378. We may be having issues with our email account.**To adopt one of my animals, you must be fully screened and compatible with the animal you are interested in. I do not accept everyone to take animals!! If you are deemed able to adopt one of my animals, you will hear from me very quickly. If not, I apologize! A submitted application is not a guarantee that you will recieve the animal you are applying for. Judge's Park reserves the right to reject anyone, at any time in order to get the best home for the animal. Once approved, you must sign a contract indicating that if you cannot take care of the animal, it must be returned to me! All applicants must research the animal that they are involved with. I WILL NOT SHIP ANIMALS. It is dangerous and too stressfull for the animal. I will not adopt my animals out if the adopter is below the age of 12 (a parent must be the primary adopter and sign the paperwork). Guinea pigs and rabbits are not suitable pets for small children!!! Guinea pigs should either be adopted in pairs, or be adopted into a home with another guinea pig. Adoption fees (suggested donations) are $20.00 for a single guinea pig, $35.00 for a pair. Rabbits adoption fees vary (see individual rabbit's page), and rats and hamsters are $10.
