Johnson County Animal Shelter
Our Mission
We are the only all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
Adoption Policy
Any animal adopted from the shelter receive vaccinations (including rabies), microchip, and must be spayed/neutered prior to leaving the facility.
Dog adoption fees are: $150.00
Cat adoption fees: $75.00 for kittens 6 months and under $50.00 for all cats over the age of 6 months
We accept CASH, CHECK, and CREDIT CARDS!
Interested applicants must meet the following guidelines:
Have a completed two page application on file; there is a possible 24 - 48 hour waiting period.
Be over 18 years of age and have a valid identification card. (Valid identification cards include any picture government identification - Driver's License or ID, military identification, or passport)
Must be 21 years of age to adopt any bully breed.
Own their own home or have permission from landlord to own an animal.
Meet the animal prior to adoption: We do not adopt out an animal until after the applicant has spent time with the animal. Please note: We do NOT place holds on animals.
Be in compliance with any previous adoptions through our facility.
Please note: We often have declawed cats available for adoption. However; these cats were previously declawed before coming to our facility.
No cat adopted from our facility can be declawed for the life of the cat!!
