Hi Everyone, My name is Russell. I was a stray that has been with the shelter since early February 2013. Russell is a tricolor Beagle Mix. Good with other animals and very loving and gentle. Russell is about 1.5-2 years old and looking for a new home.

/I'm Murphy! Murphy is a Domestic Shorthaired Gray and White Tabby. He is about 3 years old and is Feline Leukemia and FIV negative, also he's neutered. Murphy is great with the other cats and likes dogs as well, he's one of the first cats to greet the dogs when they visit the cat facility.
THE ANIMAL SAVIOR
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter…the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal,
Sadness and betrayal, and I was angry.
“GOD,” I said, “this is terrible! Why don’t you do something?”
GOD was silent for a moment, and then he replied softly,
“I have done something,” he replied.
“I CREATED YOU!”

West Memphis, Arkansas is the only town in Crittenden County to provide this service to the county citizens that might otherwise not receive any veterinary services for their pets. We have been providing this service several times a year for the past 13 years. Due to this program, we have spayed and neutered thousands of animals that would have been allowed to reproduce and cause overpopulation of animals to enter into an already full shelter. The Humane Society of Eastern Arkansas receives NO tax dollars or government funds. The HSEA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operated solely by volunteers and dependent upon tax deductible public contributions. Without donations or membership dues, the HSEA would not be able to fulfill its mission in helping animals in need. Your donations can be made to honor a person or special pet, a memorial to a person or pet, or your donation can be earmarked to go to a fund of your choice for example: medications, cat sanctuary, dog kennels, etc.

DIRECTIONS TO ANIMAL SHELTER
From Broadway/US HWY 70, we are located off of South 8th Street. Go straight through the four way stop at S 8th/Jackson. Continue and cross over two (2) sets of RR tracks. At your second four way stop (S. 8th/S. Loop) make a right turn onto South Loop. Continue about a quarter to half a mile and we are the first driveway on the right, look for double gate on right.
From I-40, take the Martin Luther King exit. At the end of the ramp, make a left turn. Continue straight going over I-55 overpass and coming to a red light at MLK/Broadway. (Poncho’s will be on the left) Go straight thru light. You are now on South Loop which will carry you all the way around to the shelter. You will cross over RR tracks and at the four way stop you will continue straight. Continue about a quarter to half a mile and we are the first driveway on the right.
From I-55, Exit ramp for Broadway will be in the left hand lane. Take the exit and make a left at the red light. (Broadway/S. Loop) (Poncho’s will be on the right). You are now on South Loop which will carry you all the way around to the shelter. You will cross over RR tracks and at the four way stop you will continue straight. Continue about a quarter to half a mile and we are the first driveway on the right, look for double gate on right. Enter and the shelter is the first building on the right.
From South Avalon, cross over the RR Tracks and vear to the left where road turns into Dabbs. Making a right in the curve and over the RR Tracks, continue straight about a mile and half. Make a left at the South Loop intersection. Continue for about 2 miles and shelter entrance is on the left just past the Fair Grounds/Horse Arena. Shelter is 1st building on the Right.
