Sasha is a beautiful Calico and white female - born August 2004. Her speed and grace cause trouble for toys, but never for furniture. She loves to cuddle, and is a lap cat once she gets to know you (she also loves gentle tummy rubs, and gives gentle kisses from time to time). Sasha loves to be brushed, and is good with children. Sasha gets along with other cats, but would also be happy as an only kitty. She does not enjoy dogs at all. Sasha loves to play. She is especially keen on laser light and string toys. Smart, fast, soft, and independent, Sasha is a great kitty. Sasha is spayed, and up-to-date on all medical.
Who We Are
Home Stretch Animal Rescue (HSAR) is a small, non-profit, all-volunteer rescue organization dedicated to providing rescue, medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption services for companion animals.
Founded in October 2005, HSAR operates entirely through uncompensated volunteer time. All money received in donations and adoption fees goes to pay for medical services or supplies for the companion animals being cared for by the organization.
Most of the cats listed on the Web Site are in foster homes in the Reston area (we do not have a facility).
Home Stretch Animal Rescue (HSAR) strongly endorses measures such as spaying and neutering of cats, dogs, and other companion animals, and believe in the rights of all animals to be humanely and fairly treated by humans.
Adopting a friend
Home Stretch Animal Rescue (HSAR) charges an adoption fee of $100 for cats/$125 for dogs. This covers spay/neuter, FIV/FeLeuk testing (cats), Rabies and Distemper vaccines, deworming, etc. Our adoption process includes an application and home visit.
Please contact us via Email if you are interested in meeting and/or adopting one of our rescues. Or stop by Pet Valu (Reston, Virginia), where HSAR holds a small cat adoption fair every Sunday, 12-3pm (except holidays).

Courtesy Postings
Some of our listings are courtesy postings where we list pets that are available for adoption, but are not within the HSAR foster care program. These pets are usually in the care of their owners who can no longer keep them, and often we have slightly different policies and fees for their adoption. If inquiring about a courtesy posting, please keep this in mind. Our courtesy postings have not been evaluated for health or temperment, and HSAR cannot provide first-hand knowledge of their behavior.
Home Stretch Animal Rescue is registered with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in accordance with the Virginia Solicitation of Contributions Law. A copy of the current financial statement of HSAR is available upon request to the Office of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Home Stretch Animal Rescue is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) - all donations are tax-deductable.
