Melissa and Lilly
Melissa and Lilly are two wonderful little girls who were removed from a kill shelter in the hopes of giving them a new life. Both are between 1 and 2 years old. Sweet Melissa is a beautiful peke mix who requires a femoral head ostectomy which will alleviate the pain in her hip and allow her to walk normally on that leg. Lilly, our lab mix girl, requires bilateral ear surgery. One ear is totally closed due to a growth which must be removed. The other ear is 90% closed due to unattended chronic ear infections. Lilly's hearing is only 10% but with surgery she will be able to hear again and lead a normal life. Our rescue exists solely on donations and member generosity. If you can help defray our medical costs to get these little girls on the right track, please contact us or click "Donate" on our website. If you're looking for a special present for someone this Christmas, maybe a "gift donation" in their name would be just the thing - especially for those animal lovers on your list. We greatly appreciate any help you can give.
If you can help in any way, please let us know at www.homelesspawsNJ.org. Any donations will be greatly
appreciated.

Who We Are
Homeless Paws is an all-volunteer organization formed in 2002. We have no facility and are comprised
solely of volunteers and foster families. Our mission is to help prevent and relieve the suffering and
neglect of companion animals through rehabilitation and placement into appropriate homes. Volunteers are
trained to assist a prospective adopter find a suitable companion for one's lifestyle. We network to
educate on the horrific number of dogs and cats who are homeless, those who may never see the outside of a
shelter wall, or those who are needlessly euthanized. We work with strays, shelter animals and owner
surrenders. All our rescues are placed in foster care, where they are brought up to date on vaccinations,
spayed or neutered, temperament tested with dogs, cats and children, and then placed in loving, pre-
screened homes.
Adopting a friend
An adoption application must be completed. If vet approved, a home visit will be arranged. Adoptions are
not based on a first come, first served basis. We always strive to make the perfect match for both the
companion animal and its potential new family.
Come Visit Us!
We do not have a shelter, and all appointments must be made in advance. Meetings always take place in a
home environment, either in the potential new home or with the foster family.
