Being in Hog Heaven is a state of mind. Our website is a Happy place to visit.
Hog Heaven has pot bellied pigs, (the throw away pet of the 90's) Pot
bellies, in fact pigs in general are very intelligent and loving creatures. We
have a variety of colors, ages and sizes. We also have horses, donkey's,
miniature and standard, mules and a few goats and sheep. Occasionally we take in
dogs and cats and birds.
David Allman and Regina Martin Allman, are both retired Pittsburgh Police
Officers that opted for a life in the country. We love taking care of the
animals and are rewarded many times over by a nicker, whinny, and an even a kiss
now and then. We are not vegetarians, but believe that the animals God has put
in our hands needs to be taken care of when their life turns bad. Horses,
donkeys and mules have been instrumental in our lives as far back as you care to
look. You can find them working beside man and providing whatever assistance
needed in the bible, the wars, and working the fields. We feel that mankind owes
them a good life.
If you would like to help one of our animals, but cannot adopt it for one
reason or another, we do offer sponsorships
. For a small monthly fee, you can help with the costs of taking care of
one of these animal. In addition to the feeding, we have worming and vet,
farrier costs. We also do offer animals to approved foster homes while they
await permanent homes. Foster
page.
If you are interested in one or more of animals, please feel free to take a
look at our web site or e mail us for more information. Yes, we do adopt out of
state but ONLY east of the Mississippi. Our major goal is to find these animals
a permanent, loving, caring home. The adoption fee helps to absorb some of the
costs of rescue and rehab of the animals. Hauling can be done at a rescue
discount if needed.
We would love to have you volunteer. Whatever you feel comfortable doing, I am sure that we could find a use for. If you are at ease in the office, we have things to be done there. If you are an outdoor person, and handy with a hammer or brush, we can always find something that needs done. If you enjoy the animals, and just want to brush, and love them, they will be very happy to oblige.
Our volunteer wish list: Grant Writer, Fundraising, Accounting, Attorney, Printing services, and Experienced Horse Trainer and help with daily care and grooming. A more extensive list of our needs is on our website.
