If you are thinking of adding another family member to your home, now is the time to adopt. We have many animals available for adoption and are quickly running out of space. Save a Life, ADOPT!**** Please help us make room for the influx of animals that are constantly coming through our doors!

Hillside Stats
The Hillside S.P.C.A. is an all animal rescue orginization like no other. Unlike most shelters, Hillside runs completely on private donations, that means that $10 check you send in to us monthly really means alot. Especially since it takes over $650,000 to run the shelter for just one year!
We are a no kill animal shelter, where every animal gets a chance. So many animals, think of the shelter as their home, and we think of them as OUR animals. Each one whether cared about previously or not, is cared about and loved when they reach the Hillside's doors.
We have around 3 acres,fenced in, where the dogs are allowed to run together. They all enjoy this and appreciate the freedom. This also allows us to get a better take on their true personalities. Cats are separated as needed, but are allowed to lounge about in their cat "condos" all day. Where they have plenty of blankets and toys to play with.
But, please remember the Hillside could never exist without caring people like yourself remembering us generously whenever you can which enables us to help the homeless animals that are in so much need of our loving care. If you would like to see what else you could do to help out, our wish list is below, or you could also volunteer some of your time.

Our Goal
Our whole reason for being here is to find good homes for all of our animals. They didn't ask to be homeless and all they want is to be loved, so how can we not try to help them? Not one animal is "put down" as a result of being here too long and we plan to keep it that way.
Who Our Doors Are Open To
Our doors are open to all furry critters, big and small, even some with no hair at all. In the past year we've had lots of dogs, tons of cats, bunny rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, and even a baby chick all enter our shelter. We've even had a parakeet or two in the past. We've even had some very exotic breeds of dogs like a Chinese Crested. So, don't just think a pet store or breeder is your only option. Many different kinds of animals pass through our door each year.
Adopting a friend
1.The animal must be kept as a house pet. Under absolutely no circumstances may the animal be kept outside for long extended periods of time. In the case of adopting a cat an enclosed porch is fine. 2. The animal if not already fixed must be spayed or neutered by the time specified by the staff. This also includes the promise of adequate vet care including yearly vaccinations. 3. If at any time in the animal's life you need to give the animal up the animal must come back to our shelter. UNDER ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN THE ANIMAL BE GIVEN AWAY WITH OUT THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE MANAGER. If for some reason you must give the animal up and know someone that wants the animal they must come to the shelter and sign an adoption contract. 4. If at any time it is deemed that the animal is being neglected or abused we are entitled to confiscation of the animal IMMEDIATELY.
These rules are made to ensure our animals get the best homes possible. We care about each and every animal and want the best for every one of them.

DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS
DONATIONS- We run totally on donations this means we get absolutely no government funding from the state what so ever! So it is always a battle to keep going. So whatever you can give to keep the unwanted animals safe is greatly appreciated.
VOLUNTEERS- It takes alot of work to keep our shelter going so volunteers are always welcome and needed. If you don't want to actually come to the shelter because of allergies etc. That's okay! You can still help us by working behind the scenes at fundraisers etc.
