Puppy kisses and tail wags to...
Snoopy and Homestretch Hounds would like to thank Madeline, a very special and kind hearted 11 year old. After giving Snoopy's brother, Woodstock, a wonderful and very loving home, Madeline wanted to help Snoopy as well. Madeline recently had her 11th birthday and instead of gifts she asked her friends to make a donation to help Snoopy. Madeline also donated money that she made selling wallets to make sure that Snoopy would be well cared for. Thank you so much for caring Madeline, you are an amazing young lady! Tail wags and doggie kisses to you and your family and friends.
A huge thank you to all of you who have supported Homestretch Hounds. Thank you, we cannot do this without you!
Tail wags to everyone who has sent updates and photos of our former residents in their new homes. These updates are so appreciated, it is wonderful to see these "kids" in their new homes and we thank each of you who have adopted and given a pet their "happily ever after". Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Our Featured Pets...
Hello, my name is Wigglet. I am an adorable hound mix baby. I had a home for the first short part of my life, but one night they left me all alone in a drop box at a dog pound. I am not sure why they didn't want me...how could you not want me, I am such an adorable baby. Their loss is your gain as I am looking for a new home to call my own. I hope it can be with you! Please click on my picture to learn all about me and please email for an application to adopt me so I can live 'happily ever after' with you.
Hello, my name is Turbo. I am an adorable terrier mix baby. My story starts off kind of sad, you see, I had a home for a while. But my home did not take good care of me. They would let me out without a fenced yard, without a leash, and unsupervised. I don't know things like to stay away from roads and cars. Well, one day, I got too close to a car and I hit it or it hit me, either way, the car won. I ended up injured real bad.
A person called a dog warden picked me up and took me to a place called a dog pound. I waited, but my owner didn't want me back. Just when it seemed like the end for me, it was actually a new beginning. A place called a rescue came and got me. I ended up having a couple of surgeries to fix a broken leg and fractured pelvis. I am better now and you can hardly even tell I had anything wrong. I have been through a lot in my short little life, please give me a chance at a happy ending, please adopt me or sponsor me to help to pay for some of my vet bills.
Thank you for helping me and please click on my picture to learn all about me.
Hello, our names are Lucy and Ethel. We are new to Homestretch Hounds. We are two gorgeous and super sweet Beagles in need of a home. Our story starts off kind of sad, we had an owner, but one day they didn't want us anymore. Our old owner took us to a pound where we soon ran out of time. We are asking for your help, you see, we need a person with a home and heart big enough for both of us. If you can't adopt us, please help us by giving a few dollars to help take care of us until our forever home finds us. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. We are the best dog-kids you could imagine. We are on the shy side until we get to know you, so we need a human who will be patient and give us lots of love. Every sad story needs a happy ending and that is where you come in, we need a new home together. Won't you please be it? You can also click on the PayPal link below to help. Thank you!

Hello, my name is Lazarus. I am a wonderful Labrador mix. I would love to meet you. My old owner didn't want me, one day they took me to a pound. I had a bad injury to one of my eyes when I ended up at the pound. A rescue came and got me and took me to a vet. The vet tried to fix my eye, but it was too badly hurt, so they had to remove it. I might be short an eye, but you would never know it...it doesn't slow me down a bit. I have been through a lot in my short little life, please give me a chance at a happy ending, please adopt me or sponsor me to help to pay for some of my vet bills.

Who We Are
We are Homestretch Hounds, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity. We are a rescue located in Southwestern Ohio. Most of our rescued animals come from small, rural pounds. Our mission is to give these fantastic animals a second chance at life by bringing them to our program when their time is up at other facilities. Our program cannot continue without your support. Our adoptable pets have so much to give, they just need to be given a second chance. By adopting a pet, you are truly saving a life. Please take a look at our wonderful dogs for adoption and please spay or neuter your pets. Thank you for your support!
Adopting a friend
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet. We are in desperate need of loving forever homes for our adoptable dogs. Adoptions have been at an all time low and we need your help. If you are thinking of adopting a dog, please take a look at the wonderful dogs we have in need of homes. If you cannot adopt a pet, then please consider a donation of a few dollars, a gift card, or supplies to help us in caring for the dogs waiting for homes. We need your help and support to continue helping pets in need. Thank you!
Prior to adoption, all pets have been examined by a licensed veterinarian, spayed or neutered, given age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas, checked for internal parasites, treated for internal parasites as needed, and all dogs are heartworm tested.
Our adoption fee is $125-$200 for most dogs and puppies and includes microchipping, spay or neuter, and the above mentioned vet care. We do not profit on these fees, these fees help us to cover some of our expenses. We are not a subsidized shelter, meaning that we receive no funding other than adoption fees and donations. Our expenses are many, we cannot continue to help animals without your support.
Please send us an email for more information on any of our adoptable pets or for an application to adopt. Thank you for giving one of our fantastic animals a second chance at life!!!
How you can help
Gimme five...or four...or three... Who says $5 can't make a difference? In the life of a shelter pet, $5 can mean life or death. $5 can feed a shelter pet good quality food for a week...$5 can keep a shelter pet healthy by purchasing a vaccine or a dose of heartworm prevention...$5 makes all the difference in the world to a rescue by allowing them to give life to a shelter pet. Please consider a donation of any amount. There is no such thing as a small donation...in the life of a pet in need, every donation is huge! Without support, we cannot save pets in need, we need you. Please help us to continue our mission to help homeless pets.

Help to change the life of a special shelter dog. We are in need of a few special and very loving foster homes for dogs that need training, socialization, and lots of TLC. You must have lots of patience and experience working with dogs, as these dogs are challenging. We started this rescue with the mission to help dogs that need help, this sometimes includes dogs that are in need of major training, socialization and work. Without someone willing to be a hero to these dogs, they are unadoptable. Think of how you could change a life and give a very special dog a chance. Send us an email at fosteradog@live.com for more information and a list of dogs currently waiting for foster homes. Thank you!
If you have room in your heart and your home please adopt one of our wonderful dogs. If you are not able to adopt at this time, then please sponsor one of our wonderful adoptable pets. Some of the adoptable pets are only with us for a short time, while others are with us much, much longer. Our rescue is open to any animal in need as space allows. The expense of caring for these residents whether short or long term is huge. Sponsorships can be arranged in any amount.
We are in need of supplies for the animals. We are always in need of new or gently used, leashes, collars, dishes, toys, cages and crates...and just about any other pet item you can think of. Paper towels, bleach, laundry detergent and other cleaning supplies are also needed. We are also in need of new or gently used comforters, blankets, bath rugs with non-skid backing, dog and cat beds. If you can donate any items, please contact us, thank you!
