Heavenly Huskies & Cuddly Canines Rescue (formerly Husky House NYC & prior to that Siberian Husky Rescue & Referral of NYC) is a very small ~~ALL VOLUNTEER~~ rescue which is committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, shelter, care and adoption of stray, abandoned and unwanted siberian huskys in the New York City five boroughs area. We have been rescuing siberians and their canine friends for over 10 years under the 3 different group names. Heavenly Huskies is a New Hope Partner for the Greater NYC Animal Care & Control Shelter system with whom we continue to work with closely. .
Heavenly Huskies is dedicated to finding our rescues a new loving, stable, security conscious and permanent homes for the rest of their lives. We are also dedicated to furthering the public's education about the specific and special needs of this often misunderstood breed.
We incur many expenses rescuing our charges and getting them ready for adoption: vet exams with my personal vet, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations or titer testing, 3 in heartworm testing (heartworm, ehrlichia. lymes), fecal testing and/or deworming, microchipping and registration, starter meds for heartworm, blood panel for seniors, dental or tooth extractions if needed, grooming, boarding, food, toys, treats. Some dogs are more costly to rescue than others since they might have a specific injury or illness requiring an extended hospital stay, xrays and/or surgery.

Adopting a friendIf you have never lived with a siberian husky before we highly suggest you read up on the breed to see if your lifestyle matches that of a very active, intelligent and independent minded working breed. One which is often prone to escaping and/or running away. One which also sheds (blows coat) heavily a couple of times per year. Here are a few websites about the breed:

CRITERIA FOR ADOPTING A COMPANION FROM HEAVENLY HUSKIES & CUDDLY CANINES RESCUE:
1. Adopters must be 25 years of age or older and reside within a 1 hour radius from NYC. We do not place in homes that rely solely on the invisible or electric fence as the sole means of containment. If fenced in yard, minimum 5 ft traditional fencing required..
2. The adoption process includes the following: . filling out an application, approval of application, phone interview, appointment to meet the dogs(since we do not have a shelter to visit); homevisit (at your convenience) and contract.
3. Our adoption donations are: $200 for senior dogs; $300 for adults; and $400 for puppies under 6 months of age. Some of our dogs for adoption are being boarded at a vets office or kennel. Adopting a friend from Heavenly Huskies means you will always have a godparent for your new family member should you need it. Whether it be for advice, assistance with some particular problem or just to share good news and or a photo. We keep in touch with our adopters. We insist that if at any point in the dog's life - they cannot keep him/her - that they be returned to us to prevent them from winding up in a shelter or worse.....No exceptions!! Please remember that all of our rescues have already lost their first (and sometimes second) home before they came into this rescue program.
