Three dogs from the Gonzales Animal Shelter are now "cell dogs" at the
Women's Correctional Facility" in Lockhart. The inmates, guided by professional dog trainers, will be training our dogs for six weeks. At the end of the six week session, they will be ready for adoption as well trained dogs. Cheick www.pawsinprison.com for information on adoptiong

The Friends of Gonzales Animal Shelter support the Gonzales Animal Shelter by promoting adoptions of pets and providing spay/neuter services for pets adopted from the Shelter and the surrounding county.
Adopting a friend
Call (830) 445-9811 / 9279 or send an e-mail to keisaimc@yahoo.com to arrange a time to see the puppies and dogs available for adoption. Many of the animals have already been spayed or neutered if they are old enough. The dogs have been wormed and are started on heartworm preventative. Some dogs/puppies who need special care have been at foster home. Please check contact information of dogs you're interested, and contact appropreate adoption counseller directly.
For the cats and kittens, call (830) 857-1616. The cats that are old enough have been spayed or neutered and are current on shots. They have also been tested for leukemia and wormed.

Gonzales Animal Shelter is located on County Road 488, off Moulton Road (CR 532). Shelter hours are 9-4 Monday through Friday, 10-12 on Saturday. The hours for the Pet Adoption Center located at 505 St. Francis in downtown Gonzales are:
3:30 to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
