If you are interested in meeting a particular foster; please send us an email request for an adoption application. We will do our best to arrange transport with a completed and approved application for this foster animal on our regular adoption promotion/meeting day or other convenient time and location for the foster home and applicant.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Humane Society is a 501-C-3 Non-Profit. We are all volunteers. We receive no public/government funding, nor do we have a physicial shelter. All foster animals within our care are housed at various member/volunteer homes spread out over the area. Our various programs include, but are not limited to: Forever Home Adoption, Spay/Neuter Assistance to financial need residents of Franklin County when funds are available, and education assistance i.e.--potty training, house training and basic obedience.

Adopting a friend

Adoption Donation for puppies and dogs is $125.00 Adoption Donation for kittens and cats is $80.00; $100.00 if declawed. Pure breed dogs/cats may require a higher adoption donation. Details will be noted on the animal's bio page.
To inquire about a foster animal, please contact us via email to request an adoption application. This valuable tool assists us in matching the right animal to the right home. Once received, reviewed and approved, we will contact you to arrange a getting-to-know-you visit of the animal you are inquiring about or may suggest an alternate within our network that may be better suited to your family and lifestyle.

If you can't adopt, please consider sponsoring one or more of the animals to help pay their expenses while waiting on their forever home. Please send an e-mail to the address on the animal's bio page to find out how to do this.

Please be aware and understand that completing an application does not guarantee that you have been or will be approved for adoption. And meetings are not scheduled until we have received and approved an adoption application.

Telephone calls from our foster homes to discuss the pet you have inquired about and submitted an application for are usually made during evening/family hours and per the availabilty of volunteer time. Because we operate on a very limited budget; please understand that long distance calls will be returned with charges reversed to you (collect) as volunteer time permits. Most preliminary communication is done via e-mail to save expenses. Email inquiries are monitored and replied on a daily basis. Please be patient...NO telephone inquiries. We cannot return these type of calls.

All animals prior to home placement, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, and heartworm tested, if age appropriate. Our adoption contract is a binding and legal document. All terms are specified within the contract.
