2008***This is the last year for the canine portion of the rescue. Despite help from some nice people we cannot go on taking in dogs with no money for vet bills. . Rescue is not a contest between shelters and rescue groups it should be a ring of support for homeless animals. We do not care if a shelter gets more attention than we do we only care that the shelter do the job it was set up to do...care for the homeless animals and their needs. We do not take away from the community we give back.. If you care then share. Your donations are the only thing that can keep us helping. We are in great need of donations of Frontline Plus and Heartgard for the dogs and cats.
*********Misty needs your help*********
Misty is a special needs dog who has no bottom jaw. She can eat only pureed food. Some sort of horrible injury to her jaw caused the bone to be eaten away by a massive infection is what the vet told us.
Found as a stray in the Bronx, NY she had a liter of puppies which she cared for like no other mother dog with a full jaw could do. She kept them clean and warm while she was starving, She is a loving and courageous girl who will be with us until she dies.
Misty loves canned Alpo and canned Kibbles and Bits. You can donate to her food fund and make her tail wag.

Our home for unwanted animals is called Whispering Willow Farm in Sharon Springs, NY . Forgotten Friends Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 tax exempt rescue organization once located in Goshen, NY. We are now located in upstate Schoharie County . We are in need of volunteers to help care for the animals we will be taking in and also we need people to help us with fund raisers so our rescue animals can be properly cared for . We are seeking
new board members to help manage all of the tasks involved in animal rescue. We need donations of farm equipment and fencing, sheds and buckets and food lots of food for dogs
