This is poor Buster ~ He was hit by a car and abandoned by his owners as they didn't want to pay the bill. His owners allowed him to run free thus this poor baby got hit by a car and now he was left at the vet office because they didn't want to fix his broken leg or pay for care. His story and pictures just tugged at my heart and since no other rescue wanted to step up for him because he was a mixed breed - here we are.... Busters bills have so far topped $500.00 before we have even gotten him into foster care. So we are asking for a little help in off setting his expenses and helping him to start a new life - a happy one that he so deserves. Buster is some type of border collie mix - doesn't matter as he is a cute as button and needs to be loved. He will soon be arriving into foster care and down the road looking for a new family to call his own - one that will care and keep him safe from harm. If you can even send $5.00 that will be a big help to our rescue and allow us to keep helping the animals in our care.
Wish List
"Rally TO Rescue"
Please check out this great program supporting rescues across the country in gaining awareness to the adoption option of homeless pets from our shelters and rescue organzations. We will be doing several events this year with our new booth and promotional materials supplied by the Rally to Rescue program.
Must fill out application
form completely including a vet reference and phone number (without your vet's number it will slow down your
application process). If you do not have a current vet you
must provide (3) personal references of non-family members. All potential adoptions do
require a home visit by a member of our respected rescue
community. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you live on a busy
street, you will be required to have
conventional fencing of at least 4 ft in height. This means
chain link or stockade type fencing (no invisible fence, stone
walls or post and rail) We do have policies on certain dogs with children - please read each dogs individual write up for more information. This policy is in place for the safety of both the dogs and the children. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt a dog from us.
YOU MUST FILL OUT THE APPLICATION BEFORE VISITING THE ANIMAL OF INTEREST. This process can take up to
two weeks. We appreciate your patience. We are all volunteers with real jobs, foster dogs, fundraising activities and
family lives. Please only fill out an application if you are serious about adopting. Please email us to request an application. Who We Are
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on
helping the animals at the town municipal pound in Mansfield, CT. We raise
money in efforts of helping the pets at the shelter have a better life
while they are waiting for a new, loving home. Our goal in the future is
to see the shelter improved by rebuilding or renovation.
Adopting A Friend
We also have a very small program of rescue dogs that are
privately fostered by area homes. We have an occasionally pup or two that
is rescued from a kill shelter in another area or state. We have an
adoption process that includes application, interview, vet reference, home
visits and then finally meeting the animal. Otherwise our main focus is to
get the dogs from our local pound into new homes....you can see the
available dogs at the shelter: Mansfield

We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because
they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like
to donate a bed to us we are in need of MEDUIM sized beds only at this time. Please do not order the covers for our beds as we cannot use them as some dogs will eat them. click here.
