WEBSITE UP & RUNNING - FIND OUT MORE INFOMATION ABOUT FOAC GO TO http://foac.us/ FOAC HAS MADE A NAME CHANGE. Still FOAC, but is now Friends of the Animal Community. The new name reflects FOAC's mission of still improving the welfare of our shelter animals and also providing assistance for pet needs of people in the community. These needs may be to help rehome a pet or help with financial assistance for spay, neuter, shots, or other medical issues even boarding. WE ARE REALLY IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES! FOSTER HOMES SAVE LIVES. First stop is at the vets office and then into a foster home. Without homes available, there is no where for these dogs to go. Last year FOAC took it's 1,000 animal from Animal Control along with helping to rehome countless community animals. Would you be willing to foster a dog until we can find a permanent foster home or a forever home? This could be a day, a week or longer. We try to match the personality of the dog with the foster household. FOAC will provide food, if necessary, and pay all vet costs. You provide a little space, some love and socialization. Boarding is sometimes the only option and the cost of boarding would be better used for medical purposes. Give us a call if you are interested in providing a foster home. Donations are always needed and welcome at any time! A donation of any amount can help save a life. Donations can be sent to FOAC, PO Box 4627, Sonora, CA 95370. Opportunities for you to help include: foster homes, transportation, help at adoption days and administrative help.
Friends of the Animal Community is made up solely of volunteers. Our mission is to find suitable loving homes for the many wonderful animals whether they are currently in our shelter or pets in the community needing to find a new home. We assist people who can no longer keep their pets. This could be due to illness, a move or other circumstances. Through our "Courtesy Listing" on our Petfinder Page, we can list a picture and information about a pet online, helping to find a new home for a pet, puppies or kittens. FOAC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, all volunteer with no paid staff. The only funding received is from private donations and fund raising events.
