This year alone, approximately 7 million pets will die in shelters across the US this year alone. Furever Home Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving adoptable dogs from being euthanized due to lack of space in the shelter system.
Our foster dogs are fully vetted and carefully evaluated prior to coming into rescue. Most of our dogs and puppies come from The Lenoir County SPCA in Kinston, NC. We have been working with this shelter for years and have established a wonderful relationship with them. The employees and volunteers there work exceptionally hard at saving the animals that come in on a daily basis. Once the pups arrive in NJ, they live in foster homes along with children and other pets. This allows us to get a sense of the pups personalities and needs, so we can place them with their furever families.
Prior to adoption all pups over the age of 6 months are spayed/neutered. They receive their rabies shot, all other age appropriate shots & vetting, tested for heartworm, flea & tick prevention & de-wormed. Our puppies under 6 months old are in quarantine at a vet's office for 2 weeks to see if they have any medical issues before they arrive here. They also receive their age appropriate shots, flea and tick preventative & de-wormed. Puppies under 6 months will be adopted out with a spay/neuter contract that is the adopters responsibility to have done at 6 months and provide documentation to me at that time.
Volunteers Needed
Because we do not have a shelter, we depend on our foster families. We are looking for people who are willing to open their homes to foster a dog on a temporary basis until they are adopted and in their furever homes. Fostering is a rewarding experience and you will be helping save a dogs life. There are puppies, young dogs & older dogs of different breeds that need foster homes. Please consider helping these wonderful dogs get a second chance. With your help, we can save more dogs from being destroyed simply because there is a lack of space at the shelter. Adopting a Friend
If you see a pup that you are interested in adopting, please email us at FureverHomeRescue@att.net and ask for an adoption application. The adoption process consists of your completion of an adoption application, our review of the application and contacting relevant references & verifying the application information. Your patience is appreciated as we receive many applications each day for our pups. If your application meets our requirements, we will contact you to discuss the dog and arrange a home visit. We understand you are excited to meet our pups. But because we do not have a physical shelter and all our pups are in foster homes, we need to limit pet visitation to Approved Applicants only. Once your application is completed and approved by FHDR, we will be happy to schedule your visit. When you meet the pup, FHDR will make a determination if it's a match. If it's a match, you are welcome to adopt the pup at that time. You are never obligated to adopt the pup. Please note, FHDR reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone for any reason.
