Adopting A Friend

Adopting a friend is what we consider a "Forever Commitment". Bringing home a companion whether it is a dog, cat, puppy, kitten or even a bunny takes lots of love and dedication. We are very honest with people on how we feel about many issues pertaining to animals. An animal is part of your family and should be treated like that. They are not objects or easily disposable. Unfortunately, many people are forced to bring ADOPTING OR BUYING AN ANIMAL!

If you feel you have that dedication, please adopt a rescue today.

Teaming up with the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Van

On January 26, 2003 volunteers from Feline Rescue of S.I. will be partnering up with the ASPCA Spay/Neuter van in an attempt to help control the overpopulation of feral felines on the streets of Staten Island. On this visit rescue workers and volunteers will be safely trapping feral cats in the Travis area. In addition to being altered, all cats receive a rabies vaccine.

This is not the first time that Feline Rescue has organized a van visit. October 16th, 2002 rescue workers and volunteers focused on the Port Richmond area of Staten Island. A total of nineteen (19) feral felines were altered and given the rabies vaccine.

Who We Are

Feline Rescue of Staten Island is a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit group of volunteers responsible for aiding, fostering and providing care to Animal control surrendered felines. We currently have 2 foster homes and therefore are not able to save all animals. The cats are rescued from 'high-kill' shelters ONLY and sadly, we are not able to save every animal.. All animals brought to Feline Rescue are temperament tested, brought to a veterinarian and tested for common diseases, given full vaccinations and spay/neutered. Volunteers assist in fostering and giving the cats Tender Loving Care they desperately need while they wait to be adopted into permanent homes.

We are looking forward to building new relationships with many people in hopes to find loving homes for our felines in need. We do NOT take in cats that are feral or have social issues.

We know if you are taking the time to read this you have already made a decision to help us with something. The question is, what would you like to help with? Contact us and tell us so that we may get started. Felines need your help!!!

My Goal For ALL of my foster children

Feline Rescue's goal is to place each kitty accordingly with a forever home. We enjoy and encourage people to spend as much time in my home with the animal and explain in detail about each kitty that they are interested in. We know the temperament and personality of each kitty and so far we are thankful, all of our rescues in the past found wonderful homes! THANK YOU!!! We know exactly which cat enjoys other cats, who loves to be petted, who likes to hang out on your lap and who is the most playful and of course, the most mischievous!

Come Visit Us!

Since I am personally working out of my home, please call for an appointment on a specific animal or to inquire about others NOT listed on this site as of yet. PLEASE, IF ANYONE IS WILLING TO DONATE OLD TOWELS, DOG CRATES, LITTER AND FOOD (ALWAYS NEEDED). PLEASE CONTACT ME. THANKS SO MUCH. Shelters are packed currently and we are limited for space, therefore many animals are being euthanized.
