Our Pet List!

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to stop the flow of unwanted animals into shelters that euthanize pets. We accomplish this by providing our lost/found service, education, adoptions, and by collaborating on a pet lost/found line. We assist lost/found dogs in finding their way home. We also provide seminars on a variety of pet topics. If you would like us to make a presentation to your organization, please e-mail us. Thanks!

We are also offering literally hundreds of phone and computer opportunities to help animals who have been lost/found and to help animals who are no longer wanted by their families. We manage hundreds of cases and we would like to put one helper in charge of each dog/cat case.

The Animal Rescue Resource Training will help you have the information you need to help animals.

Have you ever wondered what to do when you find a stray dog or cat or lose your own dog or cat?

Has anyone ever asked you what resources are available to help an unwanted dog or cat be re-homed?

Do you know where the lowest cost sterilization, vaccination, microchipping and vet services are?

Has anyone ever asked you what to do to curb their dog/cat’s problem behavior?

Would you like to know where the local bird, reptile, horse and wildlife rescue groups are?

Do you know the correct procedure to follow if you suspect animal cruelty or neglect?

Have you ever wondered what services are out there to help the animal victims when their people suddenly pass away, are placed in hospice, going into assisted living, entering the hospital, being deployed for military service or are in a domestic violence situation?

Do you know who the major animal rescue/welfare organizations are, what they do, and how you can help them to help even more animals?

You will learn the answers to these questions and more at the How you Can Help Animals--Animal Rescue Resource Training. Part of this training will overlap with the next training.

Please join us for our next How you Can Help Animals--Animal Rescue Resource Training. You do not need to become a volunteer with us to attend the training. Our pet of the month introduces himself...
Our featured pet: REX

He needs people who know dog behavior because he likes to know who his pack leader is. He is neutered, current on his shots and will be microchipped. He loves to play and run around the yard. He would be the perfect "only dog". He is very low maintenance. He prefers to play with female dogs.

This dog desperately needs a foster family! He is available for our Foster/Adopt program. You can foster him while deciding if he is a good match for your family! E-mail us at adoptarescuedpet@hotmail.com for fastest response.

VOLUNTEERS

Please e-mail us at newvolunteer@hotmail.com Or, click here Dog Foster Application to fill out a foster home application.

DOG RESCUE--LOST/FOUND SERVICE

The mission of the DOG RESCUE lost/found service is to aid in the return home of more lost/found pets. Our goal is to stop the flow of strays being dumped at Animal Care and Control (the dog pound) and the Humane Society. We hope to help decrease the number of euthanasias at these facilities by helping to find the petsÂ’ homes.

We will accomplish our mission by partnering with animal welfare groups involved in helping lost/found pets. DOG RESCUE will specialize in posting information about lost/found pets on the internet. Here is the process for the lost/found service that is offered by DOG RESCUE. People reach us through:

www.dogrescue.petfinder.com
azlostdog@hotmail.com
azfounddog@hotmail.com
480-898-8914 Missing Mutts, Cats, Etc.

There are two organizations primarily involved in this effort. They are DOG RESCUE and Missing Mutts, Cats, Etc.

DOG RESCUE

Volunteers from DOG RESCUE receive information about people needing help with a lost/found dog by e-mail, through the DDOG RESCUE web site, and through the Missing Mutts, Cats, Etc phone line. Lost/Found Dog Case Worker is assigned to each lost/found dog case. These volunteers assist callers in going through the process necessary to find/return a lost dog. DOG RESCUE volunteers will help in any way they can to prevent the dog from being dumped at a facility that euthanizes pets.

MISSING MUTTS,CATS, ETC.

Volunteers take a lost/found report and give advice about how best to find a pet or petÂ’s family. At the end of the call the volunteers tell the caller that a new service through DOG RESCUE will assist them by posting information about their lost/found pet on the internet. Callers are asked if they would like to receive a call from a DOG RESCUE volunteer. If the answer is yes, a DOG RESCUE volunteer will phone to help the caller.

Once a lost/found inquiry is made at one of these organizations:

1. A lost/found dog checklist is e-mailed or FAXed out to the caller. A Lost/Found Dog Questionnaire is also sent. This information can be requested by e-mailing azlostdog@hotmail.com or azfounddog@hotmail.com

2. A follow up call is made to make sure the checklist has been received. The DOG RESCUE volunteer encourages the caller to do everything on the checklist as quickly as possible in order to ensure the safe return of their pet. The caller is also encouraged to fill in the Lost/Found Dog Questionnaire and e-mail it back.

3. As soon as information is received about the lost/found dog a case number is given. The information is posted in 5 places on the internet. The lost/found dog information will be posted in these locations on-line: www.hrha.org, www.petark.com, www.azfamily.com, pets911.com, and, for found dogs, www.petfinder.com along with information on when the dog will be available for adoption if the dogÂ’s family is not found.

4. The caller is assigned a Lost/Found Dog Case Worker who will assist them through the steps necessary to get the dog returned home.

5. The DOG RESCUE Lost/Found Dog Case Worker ascertains how much the caller who lost or found the dog is willing to do to get the dog back home. A commitment is received and a timeline for doing each step is decided upon.

6. If the caller does not agree to do certain steps, the DOG RESCUE Lost/Found Dog Case Worker will, with the assistance of their Lost/Dog Rapid Response Team, attempt to do the steps the caller is unable or unwilling to do. This assistance may include creating lost/found posters, hanging posters in the area in which the dog was lost/found, sending a digital picture of the dog to lostdogphotos@hotmail.com/ founddogphotos@hotmail.com, helping to search for the dog at Animal Care and Control (the dog pound), etc.

HAVE YOU FOUND YOUR LOST DOG ON OUR WEB SITE?

If you have found your family dog on our web site, please e-mail us at azfounddog@hotmail.com. A volunteer will help to make sure that we have a match. Please be prepared to provide a photo of your dog or some other proof that this is the same dog. If a match is found a DOG RESCUE volunteer will help to facilitate the return of the dog.

ADOPTING A DOGGY FRIEND

All of the dogs on our web site are stray dogs. We are diligently searching for their original families. Our mission is to prevent the flow of stray dogs into Animal Care and Control (the dog pound) and the Humane Society. Together, these organizations are forced to euthanize many thousands of healthy, adoptable pets yearly. For this reason, if we are unable to find the family of these dogs, the stray dogs will be available for adoption on the date listed in the dog's file. Please e-mail the stray dog case number to adoptarescuedpet@hotmail.com to receive more information and to start the adoption process.

E-mail us at adoptarescuedpet@hotmail.com for current adoption locations!

ADOPTION INFORMATION

If you wish to meet one of the dogs seen on our web site, please e-mail us at adoptarescuedpet@hotmail.com to arrange to meet any of our animals. We can arrange a mutually convenient time and location where you can meet and greet dogs you may be interested in adopting.
