Doberman Pinscher SOS is a small, private, 501(c)(3) non-profit sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of Doberman Pinschers. Rehabilitation may be medical or behavioral, and is often both. Although we give precedence to senior and special needs dogs, we sometimes have younger dogs available for adoption that only needed short-term intensive care. Lastly, we provide quality-of-life sanctuary for Dobermans who are not likely to be adopted, for example, dogs with advanced heart or spinal problems.

Adopting a friend

All of our Dobermans have received a complete veterinary examination and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and micro-chipped. All adopted dogs come with one free bath at Canine Creek Dog Wash and Boutique and one free professional grooming at Tehachapi Pet Lodge and Outfitters, both in Tehachapi. We ask a minimum donation of $250 to help cover the cost of caring for these special dogs. We will place dogs anywhere in California and also surrounding states on a case-by-case basis.

Come Visit Us!

Please check our pet list to see if one of our Dobermans may be right for you. Then call or email us, so that we can exchange information and set up an appointment for a visit. We usually have as many Dobermans in rehabilitation as we have available, so we can tell you about those dogs too. We are located in rural Kern county near Tehachapi CA, about 2 hours north of Los Angeles and 1 hour east of Bakersfield.
