The SPCA has a number of wonder senior cats who are loving, laid back felines ready to share their golden years with you. They are house-trained cats who are well settled and aren't about to climb your drapes or terrorize your dog. Please check out Thomas, Squishy, Tia, Tabitha, and Leo.
Poor Cody has been waiting so long! Take a look into his big brown eyes. Maybe those eyes are sad because he has been stuck at the SPCA for months and months. No one has noticed him or else he would be adopted. This super brindle colored Lab mix walks well on a leash and takes treats gently from your hand. He is simply a wonderful dog with a sweet personality. He really is nice, calm, and loving. But he has been stuck in the shelter so long, he can act like a goof in his pen and not reveal his real self. This is a sweet boy who is the type of dog who will be very happy to go for walks with you or sit at your feet when you relax. CHECK OUT HIS NEW VIDEO and see just how nice he is! He is listed as eight years old but seems younger. It is time for him to finally belong to someone who will love him back. Could that be you? If you are interested in this dog, please call the shelter at 302 856-6361 to make sure he is still available. This information was current as of 11/19/09.
WONDERFUL CATS NEED HOMES
The SPCA is overflowing with wonderful cats and kittens. Several cats have been there for months. Some are declawed. Lots of wonderful black cats. All are neutered and ready for great homes. Check out their pictures on the website and please come in and meet them for yourself.

Who We Are
The original building that houses the DE SPCA - Sussex Chapter was built in 1973. It is a nonprofit organization.
Adopting a friend
All dog and cat adoptions through the Delaware SPCA include neutering, microchipping, a free wellness exam through a participating veterinarian and initial distemper and rabies shots. Cats are given a feline leukemia test and dogs over six months of age are given a heartworm test prior to adoption.
Adoption fees for dogs and puppies 4 months of age and up is $100, while young puppies are $150. Kittens and cats up to 2 years of age are $75, while cats over 2 are only $50. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Spaying or neutering your pet through a veterinarian can cost hundreds of dollars. So not only are you giving a deserving animal a loving home and getting neutering and microchipping services at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere - you are also supporting the Delaware SPCA and its mission of preventing cruelty to our four-legged friends.
