PETFINDER FEATURED PET

My previous owner had to surrender me but I just know someone is going to give me a forever home soon.

My name is Quincy aka Bear and I am a young adult. I love other dogs, cats and children. I cannot wait to find my new forever home and meet my new family. I am very laid back and pretty as you can tell. I am a Brittany Spaniel mix. Some think I may have some Saint Bernard in me but they really aren't sure. My adoption fee is $90 and that covers all my vaccines including rabies, wormer and my spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting me please call, email or come by the Animal Shelter.

Love,
Quincy

WHO WE ARE

We are the only Animal Shelter in Cullman County. We take in animals from citizens as well as County Animal Control Officers and Municipal Animal Control Officers. We would love to see all the animals that come in find a good home. We have a very aggressive adoption program here and have one of the higher adoption rates in the state. We have several volunteers that carry our pets to Pet Depot on Saturdays. We also utilize many foster homes in an effort to find more pets a home. We work very hard to maintain a clean and healthy environment for our animals. Recently we were state inspected by the Alabama Board of Veterinarians and we scored a 100 and were told by them we were one of the cleanest shelters in Alabama. We are a county shelter and unlike private rescue groups, we cannot refuse to take animals in just because we are full or they don't appear to be adoptable. Private groups are fortunate in that they can pick and choose which animals to take in. This is why they can guarantee adoption of all their animals. We take in HUNDREDS of unwanted animals each month and we strive to find them homes. However, we still have to euthanize due to lack of homes. We do maintain an adoption rate of 50-60% of all our adoptable pets and we are very proud of that. Also, if you know someone who is missing a dog please remind them to check here. We hold all stray dogs seven days before they are put up for adoption so the owner has time to find their pet. After stray hold is up they are then put up for adoption. If an animal is surrendered, it is put up for adoption immediately. Contrary to what some may think, their is not specific time we hold animals. Some are here many weeks or more depending on the room available here. If you can, please come see us to adopt your next pet. You can save a life here.

WHAT WE NEED

Also, due to donations we are able to deworm your new pet and vaccinate them at our facility with puppy/kitten shots. Your new pet must have a general exam done by a Vet upon adoption. If a medical problem is found we will gladly allow you to pick out another animal.
