The Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter staff offers caring cremation services to our community and its pets. Whether you decide on a private or communal cremation, you and your pet will receive a high level of respect and consideration.
We offer two types of cremations: Private cremation and Communal Cremation.
Private cremations ensure that the remains you receive are those of your pet. At completion of the cremation, all possible cremated remains are removed and processed for placement into a cremation container to be returned to the family. This service provides you with the peace of mind that your pet has received the highest amount of individual care. The cost for a Private Cremation is $100 per animal.
Communal Cremation is a commonly used option, as well. Your petís body is cremated together with several other animal bodies. Thus, your petís remains are co-mingled with those of several other animals. This service is for individuals who do not wish to retain the remains of their pet, but still wish to receive the highest quality of care for their pet. The cost for a Communal Cremation is $35 per animal.
