Cockers and Kitties is dedicated to saving all breed dogs and cats from high volume Los Angeles shelters. Mom cats and Mom dogs scheduled to be euthanized immediately after their babies are adopted have a special place in my heart and I try to rescue as many "moms" as possible. When rescuing from the shelter, I choose the ones who need it most-the cat or dog who is out of time or who needs veterinary attention before s/he is adoptable. Pets need to be placed in Southern California. I do not do long distance adoptions.
Because I am just one person and not a rescue group, I am not able to take owner turn ins. If you have a Cocker Spaniel or a cat who needs to find a new home, I can assist you in finding a new, loving home. Please be willing to foster your pet until a new home can be found.

yep6cats@aol.com to request an adoption application. Cats and dogs may be seen by appointment, I am not currently showing at adoption events. After an application is approved, the dog or cat is brought to your home for you to meet. If all agree that the home and the pet are a good match, the adopter will be asked to sign an Adoption Contract and pay an adoption fee.

Dogs $200 to $250
Cats $125
**The adoption fee helps offset the cost of shelter bail out, spay or neuter, vaccinations, grooming, flea control, deworming, boarding and any medical treatment that is required to make the pet adoptable.

beloved mama celeste, taken from me way too soon. i don't think you know how much i truly adored you. you stole my heart and have taken a piece of me with you. perhaps you were taken to be a mama to pip, the eternal kitten. i can think of no other reason why you would be taken so young. all cats are special but you, dear celeste, were truly extraordinary. i will love you always and miss you forever until we meet again.

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals, especially for animals who are suffering; for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry; for all that will be put to death. and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals and so to share the blessings of the merciful.
