Our Featured Pet
Are you the one for Dutch? Dutch is an absolutely gorgeous 3 yr old Rat Terrier, really a great example of the breed (in looks and temperament) Somehow, he ended up in a local shelter and when no one reclaimed him (we cannot imagine what kept them from finding their boy) we didn't hesitate to pull him and put him in our program. Dutch is the whole package! He is small but stocky (approx 22 lbs) good looking but not vain, sweet, snuggly and housebroken. He likes to play with other dogs but also loves his people. He will happily go with his humans anywhere anytime - walks, car rides - he isn't picky! His one negative - he would likely do best in a home without cats! This really is a lovely little dog and we can only imagine that something tragic happened to his former family. Dutch is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and on prevention and microchipped! . .

Happy Endings

Several of our rescued pets have already found wonderful forever homes. Click here to see our Happy Endings!

Who We Are

We are a network of foster homes of people who provide temporary foster care primarily for Cherokee County's strays and displaced animals while they await their forever homes. Our primary foster homes are approved fosters for Cherokee County Humane Society. In addition, we list animals for other licensed rescues. Many of our rescued pets come from shelters, but we also take them in directly from owners when we have room. This allows us to lessen the burden on the shelters. We also help independent rescuers place their rescued pets. Lastly, we also provide postings for owners needing assistance in rehoming their own pets.

Adopting a friend

If you find a pet you are interested in, please e-mail us. We will send you our adoption application. We do often require pre adoption home visits as well. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility you can visit. If pre approved to adopt, we will set up an appointment for you to meet and adopt your new family member. A contract will then be completed and an adoption fee will apply to cover the pets foster care and veterinary expenses.

Donate a Bed
We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.
